Chapter 3 by DamianFreeUseLover669 DamianFreeUseLover669

In this world...

The Simpsons [1989-2002]

In this timeline, The Simpsons isn't a shallow husk that's been having its corpse beaten & desecrated well into its 36th season. Instead the show ended after only 14 seasons on December 20, 2002 with an episode entitled 'Homer is Where the Heart Is'. The show ended cause Matt Groening - who in this reality had a lot more pull - felt that it had simply run its course.

In this reality, The Simpsons was one of the few adult animated shows - and shows in general - that actually featured little-to-no sexual content, and what little sex & nudity there was was intentionally censored which added to the comedy. This prudish approach in a world of hypersexual media was actually a major part of The Simpsons' success early on as audiences - despite being hypersexual themselves - saw the lack of sex along with the characters & writing - as a breath of fresh air, especially when compared to the other shows at the time. Yes, even in a world like this, not everyone wants to be blasted with sex 24/7 as audiences still crave more out of their entertainment.

Although the show proper ended in 2002, television specials are still occasionally produced, with Treehouse of Horror being a yearly Halloween tradition.

In 2007, The Simpsons Movie was released in theaters and was an even bigger box office hit than it was in our timeline! In our world the film made $536.4 million on a budget of $75 million. Here it made $780.8 million!

Because it ended before the rot could fully set in, that means that today, The Simpsons is considered one of the greatest shows of all-time because it only went 3 seasons past its golden age. And while those last 3 weren't as great as the previous 10, they were still pretty good.
