Chapter 5 by TheScyle TheScyle

Who do you run into?

Noone you know - as far as you know

You sprint down the street, trying to get away as far as possible from home or society as a whole. Sadly you are living central in a big city, so even with a car it would take fifteen minutes at least until you are not surrounded by human filled buildings.

After one minute you pass a couple holding hands. The second your eyes meet the girls, you hear "Punish her!" being screamed at you, as well as the tattoos appearing on and around her again. You speed up.

Two corners further down the road you see a group of 5 girls. Each of them plastered with tattoos top to bottom. Words circling around them in the air. You had a peak of hope to see something else than the same words as you read them.

"Punis la" - "Kanojo o bassuru" - "Castigarla" - "Bestrafe sie" - "Punish her"

Each girl had a different phrase around her, but even with your very limited abilities to speak other languages, you managed to guess what these words would mean if you translated them.

Not wanting to get closer to them you switch sides and run as if your life depends on it. You feared you might have known these girls, but truth being told, you couldn't tell for sure, as the writing on their bodies that only you could see was obscuring their looks.

At the end of the street you bump into a woman in her early thirties. You stumble backwards two steps as the voice in your head shouts louder than ever before.
"PUNISH HER!!!"
You sink down to the ground, your hands gripping at your head, rubbing your temples.

"I am sorry!" You hear the soft voice of the woman. Looking up shows the by now expected signs. Marked skin, floating words and even something new with having her clothes brands being replaced with the oh so feared words. "Are you allright?" She asked, holding out a hand to you.

You can feel tears run down your cheeks as your head vibrates from the inside, painfully reminding you of the only choice you have. In defeat you whisper. "I have to punish you."

A long pause in which non of you two talk or move follows. Silently you just pray that the woman will consider you a creep and run away, but she doesn't. "And for what will I be punished?" She asks instead with a tone that sounds worrying. It makes it only worse for you, as you are filled with remorse for doing this to a woman who obviously felt sorry for you enough to even stay after such an obviously bad statement. But you had **** left anymore. You had to reply, if you wanted your head not to kill you.

"For running into me." You whisper again and look up. The floating words had disappeared and her clothes were back to normal as well. Her tattoos were still visible though.

"I understand of course. What will my punishment be? Please know that I am really sorry for running into you." She sounded genuinely concerned, which threw you off even more.

"Y-you have to help me up." You said the first thing that came to your mind as you grabbed her hand. She had a short look of disgust on her face, before taking her second arm and pulling you back on your feet, while at the same time showing you some skin. Not by undressing in any form, but by having the tattoos disappear from herself.

"Thank you!" She said, now back with the smile she had prior. "I promise that I have learned my lesson and will not be doing this mistake again!" She bowed before you, staring at the floor.

"Y-yeah, that's good. Watch where you are going." You mumble. Was this a hallucination? You already had enough proof that you were hallucinating, so was this woman part of it? Or was it just her words, and she was actually cussing you out right now but your mind just didn't like her words so it changed it? Or maybe she was just crazy herself?

The last option seemed like the least likely one. How likely would it be for two people with a mental damage to run into each other on the street randomly. So the only reasonable explanation was that the entire conversation was a hallucination. Or maybe just the woman herself was one. Yeah, that was even more likely. After all, if he just hallucinated wrong words, then the real world would still hear his reaction to them, right? And the most logical reaction to his words would be a slap to the face. And since he did not got slapped yet, this woman was not real.

For the first time since this all started, you smiled. This was a good thing. "Can you come with me somewhere, please?" You asked the still bowing woman who shot back up.

"Um... where? I am somewhat on a time table." She kept looking away, trying to escape your gaze.

"I just have some questions that would be easier answered if you did." You just needed her and someone who definitely existed in the same place. That would proof first her unrealness, and second it would give him the option to talk to this fragment of his subconciousness. Or rather would give the other person the chance to ask questions he could postpone, since he was obviously in no mind to control for himself.

The woman fumbled with her nailes before eventually agreeing. "A-allright, but you will let me go afterwards, yes?" She asked and you happily nodded. Truth being told, you would be happy if she and all those mental changes you got would let YOU go afterwards, but there was no point in arguing with her. It would - most literally - be arguing with yourself.

Where do you take her?
