Chapter 4 by Snowball Snowball

What do you do next?

Head to Elaine's house.

Worried about your dream, you quickly run down your list of confidants. It takes very little time to realize that the only person who fits that description is Elaine. She isn't a 'friend', exactly, but she's more than just a customer. Whatever she is, it certainly can't hurt to ask her for help with your problem. Even if she just dismisses it as a case of night terrors, it'd be nice to hear from someone else.

The address Elaine gave you is on a scrap of paper under the counter, and you almost lose your bearings a few times as you try to find the right street. For someone who spent that much money at your store, she certainly lived in a rough neighborhood. Men dressed in dark clothing observe you as you walk past, probably sizing you up as a target for a mugging. The muscles you've earned over years of blacksmithing ensures that they pass you over.

You ascend the steps to Elaine's apartment, noting the dilapidated condition of the brickwork. She lives on the fifth storey, and your thighs are burning by the time you reach her door. You quickly forget your distress, however, as you see that her door has been left ajar. A step closer, and you see scars upon the wood of the door, damage that your trained eye can tell was left by a crowbar...

Elaine might be in trouble.
