Chapter 14 by Johanna Johanna

Does any advert catch your eye?

Yes - an Amazon legend retold

You did not intend to get engrossed in any of the ads. You really should have known better. A number of them look interesting enough for you to open and read through in details... But out of that short list one is particularly eye-catching.

The entity seeking entertainment is a society with a name that you cannot begin to pronounce due to its Latin components, but one that seems to boil down to "we like to roleplay something vaguely related to historical events, combat and lifestyle". You have engaged in such activities too during your university years, even if less enthusiastically than in some other hobbies, but this is not the only reason the ad caught your eye. The event will be a weekend-long one and it appears to be meticulously thought-out. So much so, that you have to remind yourself this is just a normal event for its organisers and participants, not kink play taken to an unbelievably high level.

Put simply, Asian young females are invited to play the part of the Amazons who attempt to raid an Aegean island and are met with the local resistance. One of the society's own will play the role of the Queen. You note with interest that there is nothing in theory that predetermines that the "Amazons" will lose the mock fight. Nothing, except, of course, the fact most of you will have never done anything like that whereas your opponents do it every weekend. Still, a part of you wonders what would happen if that unexpected outcome arises. The fact it is unaccounted for is rather humiliating in itself. More realistically, however, those of you "captured alive" will be sold as slaves to a variety of "households"; others will instead play the part of the victims of Hades undergoing whatever treatment he has in store for them. Some limits are listed... But frankly, not very many. It is also noted that one may attempt to hide anywhere on the event grounds.

You know you should be careful and find out more about this world before throwing yourself head first into something of this scale; this will take an entire weekend (for which you admittedly do not have any plans as far as you know) and it is made very clear that for some the experience may get quite intense. The "battle" itself may get rather rough too, although the safety of the participants is assured. You really should build up on your first small steps (especially even these felt quite intense already, involving far fewer people in far more familiar settings) slow and carefully. Instead you find yourself filling the form with your details.
