You have no intention of a direct fight

You know that you were easily defeated by the older Jennings father, so you have no doubts that Amanda's boyfriend, much more fit as a human, will win in seconds in a direct fight. Keeping this in mind, you keep your stance, drawing Derek into a fight he knows he can win.

With a snarl, Derek pushes off of the bar with both feet and slams his wings downward in a terrifying display of power and speed. To block this attack would be suicide so you roll underneath it, sword angled upward. Derek predicted this move and swats the flat of the blade with his tail as he passes over you, knocking the blade across O'Malley's hardwood floor.

As you recover to a standing position, Derek spreads his wings like a drag racer's parachute and skids to a stop. He spins around, locating you and finding Amanda as she dives behind the bar.

"Hide all you want, lover!" he jeers. "I'll make quick work of your 'rescuer'," the last word is dripping with sarcasm. Clearly, he is well aware that the fight is over.

Fortunately, so are you.

Quickly, you slide over the bar and grab a bottle of strong vodka. You rip off the pouring spout and brandish the now-open container.

"Ha! What are you going to do? Use liquor to get some confidence, little man?" Derek laughs sardonically, striding closer with a smirk.

You have no intentions of drinking this. You stuff a cleaning rag into the bottle, soaking it and, as you grab a lighter, probably intended for igniting adventurous patrons' shots, Derek seems to realize your plan.

"NO!" He launches through the air, reaching for your arm as you light the rag.

You throw the bottle, as hard as you can muster, at Derek's face and dive under the counter, covering Amanda.

With a horrendous scream and a blast of heat, your Molotov lands true. As the vodka drips across the incubus's chest, igniting down his crimson skin, you hear a thud as he falls to the ground. The hardwood!

With another whoosh the floor catches fire and the heat really starts to build.

"Amanda, we need to leave before this whole place goes up!"

For her part, Amanda can only nod as you roll off of her back and pull her to her feet. Now you can see the charred husk of Derek, and you immediately look away in revulsion. Well, apparently fire works, you think grimly. Amanda looks away in disgust and pain as you lead her out of the burning restaurant.

"Let's go get Megan and get out of this hellhole!" you say with as much confidence as you can muster.
