To the Hospital

Amanda gives you a hopeful smile. “My friend Petra is a resident at St. Mary’s.”

“Sounds like it’s worth a shot.”

You hop in the car. Amanda hops in back with her bound sister. You peel out of the parking lot, screeching your tires and leaving the mall in your rear view mirror.

Amanda eyes her sister warily. “Do you think we can pull her gag out?”

“You can. Im not sure it’s a good idea. I suppose you can always shove it back.”

Amanda loosens the gag and pulls it down.

A smiling Megan leers at her. “Thanks, sis, how ‘bout a kiss?”

Megan puckers up.

“Enough of that Megan, behave or ill shove that gag right back in.”

“Fine. I’ll behave. I can sit quietly.”

A massive shadow passes over the car.

From the backseat you hear Megan giggle.

You glance outside. You see nothing.

“Amanda, do you want to go to the ER, or just find your friend?”
