A Way Out

At first, you see nothing at all; you blink momentarily revealing the carnage around you. In pain, you try to stand up but it is too much, and you fall into unconsciousness once more. Then everything comes back as you remember the car at speed slamming into Jess, seconds later her body crumpled as it was thrown into the far wall. Although your mind was still in a haze, you remember seeing Amanda take off and fly away from the carnage. While the Incubus had desperately tried to drag the screaming woman from out her car but to no avail and he was knocked out by a piece of falling debris.

Within the hour you push yourself up from the wreckage and look around. Turning your head towards the wall, you see Jess's limp body. Part of you wants to go over and check she's ok. Though having seen what the others can endure, you decide it's safer not to. Looking to your right you see the remains of the car and the Incubi's body a few inches to the right. As you start to move back down out of the alleyway you hear a blubbing sound coming from inside the car.

Carefully you turn around and start to limp toward it. After a few paces, the blubbering stops as a startlingly beautiful blonde opens the door. Your eyes widen in abject terror as you see she's holding a shotgun and is aiming it directly at you. All is still as the women parts her smooth crimson lips to speak "I'm Megan, who the fuck are you?." Your mind goes blank as you desperately part your lips to stammer out a response "Th-Thanks for saving me".

Her jade eyes looked you up and down before she parted her lips to speak once more "Well whoever you are, I saved your life, now you owe me an explanation". Nervously you nod your head in response. Once again she spoke, "I received a text from my sister saying she was in trouble, so naturally I came to help." Your eyes dart down towards the body of the crumpled Incubus momentarily before looking back at your saviour. She looks at you with a quizzical stare before asking "Did you see a burly man chasing a brown haired girl down here a few hours ago."

Pausing briefly you purse your lips to respond "I didn't see a chase but I saw the aftermath". Megan looks at you with malice in her Jade eyes as she says "What do you mean aftermath, is Amanda ok?". Everything goes quiet, almost too quiet. There's a cha-chack as Megan levels the shotgun at you, moments later she parts her lips and shouts "what happened to my sister". Glancing downwards you see the Incubus begin to flex as he begins regaining consciousness. Looking into Megan's eyes you part your lips and say "She's been turned into a Succubus."

Megan looked upon you with rage as her upper lips curled back and she yelled "LIAR". Slowly she stood up and out of the car, as she pushed the cold steel against your chest. Parting your lips you look deep into her baby blues before pointing to the ground and speaking "He took Amanda and defiled her". Megan looked down to see nothing but an empty space. Madness seemingly runs through Megan's features as she looks upon you with an enraged hatred.

A shiver runs down your spine, upon realising you're stuck in a no-win scenario. Slowly your mind begins to wander as you wonder where the Incubus has gone?
