Jack Uses MC to Make Kate Happy About Having a New Life

Jack raised the remote in Kate's direction, then, before she was able to do anything about it, he pressed the MC button, causing her to fall into a trance.

"Can you hear me, Kate?" he asked her, moving closer to her and sitting down in a chair opposite of her.

"Yes," she said, in a near monotone voice.

"You're not mad with me. You like that your life has changed. You didn't really love your fiancé anyway and were always trying to find some way to get out of your wedding. I've helped you. I've freed you. You understand?"

"Yes," she said. "You've freed me."

He was about to press the MC button again to make the changes to her memory "permanent", but paused for a moment, wondering if he should make other mental changes. For example, he could make her love him, or make other changes to her memories. Should he?
