The trial

Contrary to the horror stories she'd heard, Mackenzie was not molested or mistreated. In fact, the treatment she received was prompt and professional. On the other hand, being held handcuffed for the better part of two days and having to eat, drink, and use the toilet without using her hands was humiliating, even if the guards had been instructed to assist her . Which they did, in the same surprisingly professional manner. But being kept naked at all time on top of all that added a deep sense of humiliation. Monday morning couldn't arrive any sooner.

Her ex-roommate Willow, fresh out of law school, had just passed the bar, so she called her and asked her for advice. Willow came to visit her on Sunday, and agreed to represent Mackenzie on Monday, so she was hopeful that all this would be put soon behind her. When the morning arrived and the door opened for her to have the day in court, she stretched, expecting some garments to arrive. After all, they wouldn't make her appear like this in front of the judge. Instead, much to her surprise, she found herself walking toward the exit, where a, sullen, naked Rachel was already waiting in the police van. "You can't do this!" She screamed but was quickly brought to silence and **** to sit facing Rachel, both with their legs awkwardly pressed together.

Mackenzie's trial was first. Her charges were announced, and the phone was presented as evidence of her lewd behavior. Her being naked didn't seem to impress the magistrate - an old, stern-looking woman who reprimanded her sternly. At Willow's recommendation she pleaded guilty - it was, after all, an insignificant misdemeanor, and saving judge's time would grant her some leniency in exchange. A fine and possibly some community work was all she could expect. She rolled her eyes, thinking of how much garbage she could collect on a Sunday, but she was happy that this was about to end.

Mackenzie was told that the judge will issue her sentence once she heard all the other cases, and the only one left was Rachel's. Meanwhile, she had to wait. So, as she was led in a side room to await her sentencing while Rachel's trial started, she noticed in surprise to see that Willow was her friends' attorney too.
