Chapter 4 by Control Freak Control Freak

Which stickers do they choose for each other?

Kate gets Natural, Lisa gets Love [Red]

Kate and Lisa went through the sticker sheets, trying to find the perfect stickers to place on their friend. It didn't take long before each girl has a sheet picked out.

"Ready?" Lisa asked.

"Just a second," Kate said, before going over to Lisa's desk and grabbing a marker. She wrote something down on her sticker, then put the marker back where she found it before returning to the bed, "Okay, now I'm ready."

Lisa nodded and pulled her chosen sticker off the sheet, "On the count of three then. One..."

Kate pulled her own sticker free, and held it at the ready, "Two..."

"THREE!"

Both girls slapped their chosen sticker just below the other's left shoulder, and rubbed it in to make sure it stuck on properly. Slowly, they lifted their hands so that their friend could see what they were given.

Kate saw that Lisa went with one of the 'safe' options, a simple leaf. She recognized it as a fig leaf from some statues she saw in one of her history books.

"Heh, that's cute," Kate said, rubbing her finger over the place where the sticker was. Oddly enough, she didn't feel the seam where it attached itself, or even any plastic. All she could feel was her own skin.

Lisa was less thrilled with what Kate chose for her. On her arm was the outline of a red heart. Inside it, Kate had written 'MOM' in all caps.

"Seriously, Kate?" Lisa said.

"Oh come on, don't be like that!" Kate said with a chuckle, "It gives you that 'tough biker' edge you are sorely missing. Besides, with how much you've been sucking up to your mom lately, I think it's more than appropriate."

"Well, I don't," Lisa replied with a pout, rubbing her fingers over the new 'tattoo', "What the hell? I can't get it off!"

"Yeah, mine won't come off either," Kate said, "I don't think these are ordinary stickers."

"Well duh!" Lisa exclaimed, "What are we supposed to do?"

Kate furrowed her brow in thought, then said, "Hey, remember the inscription? Let me see your arm for a second."

Before Lisa could object, Kate reached over and grabbed the edge of the sticker, which reappeared the second Kate's fingers touched the area. She peels the sticker half-off and said, "Yup, just as I thought. Looks like stickers can only be removed by the person who put them on."

"Great, then take it off!" Lisa said.

"Where'd be the fun in that?" Kate retorted, pressing the sticker back onto Lisa's arm, "We should wear these for at least a few hours before we take them off. Besides, it's not that bad. If you're really that embarrassed. pull your shirt over it."

Lisa sighs and looks back down at her new tattoo, then pulls her sleeve over most of it, "Yeah, okay. I guess it could be worse. Besides, as long as I'm putting them on myself, I can take them off myself. And some of these designs are pretty cool."

"Plus, imagine putting one of these on that bitch Sadie," Kate said, picking up the 'Slut' sheet, "I think one of these would look good across her forehead, don't you?"

"Good luck getting that on her," Lisa said with a laugh.

"Hey, I'd find a way," Kate replied, laughing alongside her friend. She then hopped off the bad, "So, want to go to the mall? I think I remember something about you offering to buy me a movie ticket."

"Maybe later," Lisa said, rolling her eyes as she got up, "I told my mom I'd help her make some cookies for the yard sale."

"Ugh, cooking," Kate groaned, "Well, if you want to hang out after, give me a call."

"Yeah, I should have time for that," Lisa said, following Kate out of her room and down the stairs, "I'll let you know. Thanks again for helping me with the attic."

"Hey, no way I'd leave you to do something that sucky on your own," Kate replied with a smile, "Later."

"Bye," Lisa said with a wave as her friend walked out the door. A few seconds after Kate left, Lisa realized that her friend forgot her flannel shirt in her room.

"Eh, she's still got her t-shirt on," Lisa told herself with a shrug, "If she doesn't come back, I'll give it to her next time we meet up."

Lisa went to the kitchen to help her mom, not noticing that her friend had also neglected to put her shoes back on before she left.

Which girl do we follow now?
