Lucky Gloves

*This is a random idea that's been sitting on my computer for a while. I thought I'd release it in the small hope I inspire someone to write for it.

The lucky gloves are a pair of white gloves that have a special ability when worn. They look completely ordinary to the naked eye, and its purpose is only revealed after it is put on. These gloves can manipulate the luck of the user and the one the user touches with these gloves. However, you do not need to be constantly touching the person to change their values.

After touching the person, the user has a limited period of 10 minutes to change the values. Once the user activates the gloves ability then time will stop for everyone but himself. There are many different values and categories to luck. It is not simply that you are lucky but have an accumulation of many lucky points in different/useful categories. For example, you could have a category that increases your chances of running into cats while walking home. Not exactly useful for your day-to-day life, but it’s something that could happen to you. People’s luck values have a range from 0 to infinity; however, it's harder to find people with high values in any category. When a person's luck value is zero that means that the scenario can’t happen no matter what for that person. It is a wonder how people have certain luck values attached to different scenarios. Some theorize that in itself is luck, others think that is because of a higher power, and some people simply don’t care.

There are multiple drawbacks to this power other than having to make physical contact with someone else. The gloves are only able to steal and manipulate the values that are available at the time. It’s purely situational of what you can change at the time. One example is that when you’re sitting in your class, you would be able to increase your classmates’ chance of getting a question right when called on or decreasing their chance of dropping something on the floor by accident.

You’re not always going to be able to change the values you want, but if used effectively or at the right time you can make some big, permanent changes because what you change with the gloves can’t be changed by someone or something else. It’s a great thing that you’re able to store points as well.
