Chapter 5

Are they serious?

Let’s get this party started!

“I am terribly sorry, miss…?”

“Tara.”

“Tara. But the Armor of Algermor would destroy any and all clothes it touches.”

Tara moaned. “Can’t I just stay here and have the other five heroes fight that Intectus guy? Do I really have to get out like this?”

“In theory, you could.” A priest answered. “But not only would the odds of defeating him be lower, and he has the orb that would grant us the power to sent you back.”

Tara touched her forehead in exasperation. She saw but one option. She put the necklace around her neck, the pendant hanging between her breasts. She then grabbed the handband, and wrapped it tightly around her head. “Let’s dethrone an emperor!”

Tara was greeted by the gorgeous cityscape when she left the cathedral. For as bizarre as this day has been, she had to admire the beauty of seeing this city in reality. It made her briefly forget her state of undress.

“Look at the nude beauty!”

Briefly…

Tara tightly covered herself, shielding herself from onlookers.

“So, what next?” She asked the female priest.

“Three things. One, about your armor. Not only does it reflect damage, but it can also temporarily store it. So you can use it in one really powerful attack. But you can store only so much.”

“Okay, good to know. What’s the second thing?”

“The second thing is this.” The priestess materialized a large worn out book. “This almanac has everything you need to know; maps, monsters and their behavior, and directions on where to go. Just lift your hand and the book appears.”

The book briefly floated above Tara’s open palm, before disappearing again.

“Finally, you were to meet one of the other heroes at the city gates. The two can then go on your journey on finding the other four. We wish you good luck on your journey.” The priestess bowed before going back inside.

Tara took a brief sigh. “Well, I better get started…”
