Paired with Sydney — a strong, restless younger warrior who sees her as both mentor and friend — the two women undergo a week of intense preparation before being delivered to the frozen mainland. What begins as a search for hope quickly becomes a struggle for survival. In the cold ruins they face evolving Ravagers, the remnants of failed military units, and the growing tension between duty, desire, and the fragile humanity they are trying to protect. As the mission deepens, Emma must confront not only the horrors of the infected world, but the parts of herself the island’s rules were designed to keep buried.
