Jack Turns Kate Into a Goth Girl

Not too many people knew this, but Jack had a thing for Goths. The rebellious attitude, the dark sexy clothes, that certain moody edge they had. It was very attractive to him. Of course, he never met a Goth girl he liked, or one that liked him, anyway. But with this remote, he could make Kate like that. He never thought of her like that, though. He loved her innocent and kind personality. Not once did he ever, in his mind, combine her with his fantasy lover Goths. But now ... with the remote ... yeah, he could do it.

He got a little bit of a thrill as he pressed the BM button. He was about to turn her into something completely foreign to her. Something she never was before and probably never would be. Some people just didn't have a bad bone in their body, you know? But the new Kate was about to.

After pressing BM, the touchscreen activated, showing a list of options. Using his finger, he scrolled down to SKIN and used the slider to make her skin tone "pale white". It was weird seeing her this way, but also kind of cool. He then pressed the "return" arrow symbol to go back to the option list and scrolled until he found HAIR and pressed it. He then moved the slider to "black" and made it natural. He then went back to the option list and pressed HAIR STYLE, which brought up another list. He pressed the option he wanted, giving her short spiky hair. Nodding, he then pressed BM to make the changes "permanent". As usual, the remote asked if reality should change or not and he pressed YES. This would make it so that Kate would normally have pale skin and short black spiky hair. Everyone except Jack would remember her being that way.

But giving her pale skin and a gothic hairdo wasn't enough to make her a Goth girl. For that, he'd have to change her lifestyle. He pressed the LS button, then scrolled down on the touchscreen to GOTH, then pressed it. Another option list appeared, allowing Jack to specify what kind of Goth. He wasn't really particular about it, so he just pressed BASIC. If he wanted, he could go back later and choose one of the other options (like CYBERGOTH, WICCAN, or maybe PUNK). Almost instantly, her clothing changed. Her tight gray T-shirt morphed into a tight black T-shirt over a fishnet shirt, her blue jeans morphed into a pair of tight black leather pants, and her sneakers morphed into a pair of black lace up boots. New make-up appeared on her - black eyeliner, black lipstick, black nail polish. Her ears were pierced with multiple earrings, she had an eyebrow ring and a nose ring. On her some of her fingers, she had arcane-looking rings. And around her neck was a black leather collar with one-inch metal spikes. Maybe it was him, but he thought that even the expression on her face changed, looking a bit darker, meaner. She didn't look like the innocent girl he knew her as. Satisfied with her changes, he pressed the LS button again, making the changes "permanent", then he was asked if Kate would notice the changes or not. He thought for a moment, then decided to allow her to notice the changes, but be okay with it. He didn't want her to think she had always been this way. If he did, she might be a totally different person. He still wanted her to be Kate. As usual, the remote asked if reality should change or not and he pressed YES. This would make it so that Kate would normally be a Goth, with all of her belongings and relationships supporting that fact. Everyone except Jack and Kate would remember her being that way. The remote made the exception for Kate automatically, as it took into consideration the previous command to make her aware that she had changed.

Satisfied of the changes, for the moment, Jack then pressed TIME again to resume time.

Kate continued talking, as if time had never stopped. "... you wanted to ... what the fuck?" she said, suddenly noticing her appearance. She looked at him, with confusion on her face.

"Are you okay?" Jack asked.

"Yeah. I guess so. How the fuck did this happen?"

Jack noted her profanity, which she never used before. At least, he had never noticed her using it before and she used to be the type of girl who wouldn't.

"I changed you with this," Jack said, holding up the remote.

"You think I'm fucking stupid? You can't change someone with a TV remote."

"You can with this one. I used it to turn you into a Goth. Are you okay with that? Do you want to change back?"

She looked thoughtful for a moment, then said "Oddly, I don't. I mean, I don't usually like all that weird Goth shit, but for some reason, I kind of want to stay this way. Weird, huh?"

Not weird, since Jack made her notice her change, but accept it. Her original memories were still there and her new personality was at odds with them, but she seemed to be okay with it.

Kate walked over to a mirror hanging on the wall and looked herself over. "Fuck. I really look different now. But I kind of like it. It goes well with my pale skin and black hair too." She turned towards Jack, thinking that she normally had pale skin and black hair, as Jack designed her to. "You're really saying that some sci-fi shit did this to me? How does it work and what else can it do?"

Jack smiled. "I'd be happy to show you." She walked over and Jack showed her the different buttons and what some of them meant.
