At the stroke of midnight

Thomas paced in his room, watching the time go by. It was five minutes to midnight, and he was eagerly waiting for Kyle to keep his end of the deal. He had tried to get the key to the attic from his housemate countless times over the course of the day, but Kyle never relented.

Now he was **** to wait until the middle of the night to invoke his plan.

Unlimited power had nearly been his. What he should have done was type something to consolidate his control over the World Processor instead of letting that power go to his head. And now look at the predicament he was in; being limited to one change a day was utter bullshit.

But he’d make it work. He just needed to ensure that he’d be the first one to use the World Processor when Kyle left the key behind.

At the stroke of midnight, his alarm went off, freeing Thomas from his thoughts. With baited breath, he stood near his door, his room the closest to Kyle’s, and waited. Five minutes went by before he heard movement coming from across the hall. Putting his ear on his own door, he listened to what he recognized as Kyle's voice, mumbling incoherent words.

Thomas could barely suppress his cheer of joy when he heard Kyle make his way to the kitchen instead of up to the attic.

Ten minutes later, Thomas stood in front of his salvation. As promised, Kyle had left the key in the kitchen unattended and had gone immediately back to his room. When the coast was clear, Thomas snatched the metal object as fast as he could and nearly ran to the attic. The door had barely closed behind him by the time he held the World Processor.

He quickly logged on, surprised that the machine remembered his user name, and commenced his plan.

Simply put, Thomas wanted sex. Thanks to the World Processor, he had graduated highschool, but that hadn’t solved his problems. He was still awkward, still ignore by Bianca and Pamela, and still considered a pervert. That needed to change; pronto.

But he had one modification to make first.

It had taken a better part of the afternoon and early evening but he had come to terms with the fact that he could only make one change per day. Once he had calmed down, he discovered that the solution was pretty simple.

He didn’t have to do all the work; he could let the others do some of it for him.

He typed in a rush.

After the flash, he sat back and grinned.
