The One With Slime

You spin your head and gaze over the various paths and doorways you can take when you stop at one with a slick glistening shine in the entry way against the left side of the doorframe. You get close to it and see a clear greenish goo slowly dripping down the side. You scoop a bit into your right hand and stretch it between your index finger and thumb. It's sticky and cold, like slime. You look down the hall and into the poorly lit area to see more glistening, no doubt more of the goo. While most would probably take another way, you decide to take the slime road less traveled.

You make one step past the doorway and emidietly end up ankle deep in a pool of slime. You lift your foot up for another and stretch out strings of goo under your boot making it much tougher to walk. You try not to pay attention to it and just head further inside as goo strands drop from the ceiling like rain. As you move deeper down the hall, rounding the turns and watching for the occasional bump under the slime, you notice that the ceiling, walls, floor, columns, every inch of stone in this hall is counciled under a layer of thick, cold, gooey slime, with almost a stream of it crawling deeper in along the ground and around your ankles. Clustered piles of what you think are egg sacks line the top and bottom of some walls, glowing a faint green light in the dark. You don't really know what might live here but you haven't encountered anything yet.

Eventually, you come to a caved in part of the hallway, blocking your path ahead almost completely if not for a small hole a foot or two off the ground leading to the other side. Normally, this would issue for more than just a retreat but you don't think that anything like that is still possible. You can no longer see the light from the original chamber behind you and don't even think you could find your way back if you wanted to. The lighting is no help either as all you can see is the tiny amount of light that reflects off the slime, making you feel claustrophobic. This doesn't leave too many options for you. You could try to turn back and find your way to the main chamber again, or you could try another way, or you could try to crawl through the hole in the rubble.
