Talk a bit about Earth.

There's a lot that's probably not important, or things that would confuse her so much that it isn't even worth bringing up right now. Though, there were a lot of things she likely saw at this fake anime highschool that I could explain.

"Well, I'm from Earth," you explain. "There are schools there that are similar. Though, that was more inside a fictional representation of what a school in Japan is like. Some kind of manga world."

My theory is that Davella has read a lot of slice of life highschool mangas, and since the wild sprite was inside of me, when the entire thing disrupted, it also took from my mind as well. I'm not sure.

"Did it make you miss home?" she asks.

"Maybe a little, but I was too distracted by a couple of naked girls to think much about it."

"H-Hey!"

"Just teasing. But yeah. I'm not sure what to explain first."

"What about the things people were riding outside?"

"The vehicles? There are cars, trucks, and other things. They're like big metal carts you ride inside, and instead of horses pulling them, they're powered by gas inside of an engine that--"

"You've lost me."

"You didn't even give it a chance!"

"What about those little devices people were carrying on the street?"

"Smartphones do basically anything. Calculator. Contact with other people. Taking pictures. Getting basically any information you need at any time. They're the catch-all helper device people always have on their person."

"Wow... I wish I had one of those! But what were you talking to Davella about?"

"Well, you remember that interesting book of girls we found in the cave of the cyclops?"

"Ugh. Of course you'd know about those."

"No, no! Manga is just Japanese comics basically. She was talking about story books filled with pictures. There are all sorts of different kinds. Somehow, she must have gathered a collection of them."

"Fascinating... If we ever get one, can you read it to me?"

"Of course."

"Yay! That sounds exciting. Thanks for sharing, Kyle. I know it must be strange getting these little tastes of home. I hope that one day, you can at least visit Earth again, but uhm, hopefully not forever. You won't leave this world, right?"

"I wasn't planning on it. I think I found a new life here, and even if it's a real headache sometimes, it's really grown on me."

She grabs you by the arm and hugs it tight. "That's good to hear... Hey, when we're done here, I'd like to show you something else, but I'll need you to meet me somewhere after a certain amount of time again."

"Again with the mysteries."

"The last one. It's just a gift."

"A gift?"

"For being there for me. D-Don't think too much about it, okay? Just accept the gift when you see it. I'll get really embarrassed if you reject it, or go on talking about it after. I just want you to take it without question."

"Uh. All right."

"Meet me back in our room and I'll present it to you, but you need to wait another hour so I can get it ready, okay? Maybe in the meantime, you should let Professor Frin know what happened, at least in some way. I don't know if you want to tell the truth or not. It's just that she's in hot water as long as people think a wild sprite is loose at the school."

"Sulta knows, but you're probably right. I'll at least talk to her if I see her."

"But for a little longer... let's just sit here. Okay?"

"I'd like that."
