Chapter 125 by YZS YZS

What is Haze going to teach Finn?

Haze's Wisdom

As Finn sat down next to Haze, right at the edge of the lake, he was ready to have a deep conversation, where they could talk about all aspects of his life, identify his biggest problems, and worries, to then analyze them, and hopefully solve them, or finally understand them. And since Finn had all day to do that, as he didn't have any more tasks, he grabbed some fruits, that he brought to the lake a few days ago, and listened closely to Haze, who started explaining him everything he needed to know, and even more, a surprisingly amount of information, that he actually appreciated, since it was so useful to him.

"Alright Finn, let me explain you everything, step by step... First, you need to know that this mission will be the most important accomplishment of your life... nothing will compare to that, and it is a lot of responsibility, but don't worry just yet... As you may have noticed, I'm trying to teach you, alongside my teammates, about everything you need to know before becoming a warrior... Tsuri will train you well… While Erys will teach you some very useful tricks, or general knowledge, to succeed at your mission... And I'm here to teach you as well... but mainly give you guidance, like answering all of your questions... just like we are doing right now..." - Haze started speaking, with a calm, and slow pace tone, as she tried giving as much information to Finn, so he would know what the first step of his mission was. And since he made sense of everything, and he quickly realized the roles of every monster girl, Finn gave a mindless nod, to respond to Haze, and let her continue talking.

"You understand? Right... So with all of that said, the first step will be this teaching process... Where all three of us prepare you to leave the island, and take you with us, so you can join the training program... We might follow you, and help you with your training then, only if you want... but hopefully, after all we taught you, and all the skills you are going to develop... You- well, you become a warrior, basically..." - Haze continued telling, before abruptly ending, what felt like a big piece of information, that was very intriguing to Finn, who was paying more attention to the dragon girl, than literally anything in his life. Haze just wanted to explain her, Erys, and Tsuri's involvement with Finn, but as she explained everything quickly, he was very surprised, as he thought his mission didn't sound so hard after all.

"Wait... so I only have to listen to what you have to teach me... and then at some point I just have to leave the island, do some training, and fight for your goddess or whatever you said earlier??... Is that simple??... it can't be..." - Finn asked, with a very confused expression, and almost at disbelief, since he understood completely his first step, which wasn't all of it, but was the most important of his mission. Haze quickly noticed his confusion, as she realized how she oversimplified things, for the sake of better comprehension, and skipping over many parts that were very relevant, but didn't concern her, even though it would have concerned Finn. But after realizing she made a mistake, without showing much reaction, or nervousness, Haze quickly tried to fix it, by giving Finn a better response, or explaining herself better.

"Yes, it is... To be honest, we don't involve ourselves in the later stages of your training, we just have to make sure you join the training program, and that you are capable of doing so, of course... but yes, that would be it... I know I'm making it sound more simple than it is, but you have to remember... The hardest part will always be the first step... you need to leave your life behind, all of your friends, goals, or dreams you had in this island... to serve our leader, and fight for the honor, and wellbeing of this world..." - Haze explained, with a more sincere tone, and a straightforward manner, that was very effective, as Finn understood everything, rather quickly. But as he put some thought into the dragon girl's words, Finn felt a bit relieved, now that he got most of the answers he needed, but even though Haze was much clearer this time, it also allowed him to see other things clearly, like the fear of abandoning his friends, for what he thought, would be forever.

"B-but... I-... I don't want to leave this island yet... I have all of my friends here... I don't know if I could leave them behind..." - Finn mumbled, after he realized Haze's words were true, and if he accepted his mission, he wouldn't see his loved ones again, and of course he didn't like that. He started hesitating a lot, since he couldn't think of living without his friends, and the idea of not seeing Zoey, made Finn panic, as he was already regretting his idea, or purpose, of becoming a warrior. But as Haze saw how Finn turned, from shy, to anxious, to full panic mode, she quickly understood what he felt, and even though she wasn't good at it, she tried comforting him, with the hopes of convincing him, to either listen to her, or pursue his mission, which was all she needed to do.

"I know, it is a tough decision to make... but you have to decide... and, if this makes you feel any better, it will be only for a few months... You just have to be part of the training program, do a couple of expeditions, or fight in a battle or two, and then you are free... You will still have to serve the elven queen, but you can return to your home if you want... and see all of your friends, and loved ones again... Although, I can also assure you that you will meet a lot more people in your mission, and you might not want to return..." - Haze said, with a very calm, and slightly soothing voice, that got Finn to calm down a bit. He was glad to hear her reassuring words, but since he would have to be away from his home, friends, and love interests, for a few months, if he accepted the mission, Finn hesitated a little more. He thought he would never choose to accept the mission, but after calming down a bit, he realized he just had to put some thought into it, and with time, he could find the answer he needed.

"Uhh... okay... but when do I have to leave??" - Finn asked, still anxious, but more curious, as to how much time he had on the island, so he could determine what to do, and how long he could think about his decision. He really was hoping it would take years, so he could stay at the island, for a very long time, or long enough, so he could spend more time with Zoey, share more dates with girls, fuck all of them, maybe get a few of them pregnant, and even raise his kids for a while, before he had to leave the island. And while he was already thinking too much about it, Finn was very relieved, but still nervous to hear what Haze had to respond.

"Whenever you are ready, it will be your decision... We do have to teach you everything we were told too though... and of course, you need to be ready for the training program, or else you will miss this opportunity... So I'll say you have as soon as one week, or as late as two months, to accept your mission... and unfortunately, leave the island for a long time..." - Haze replied, in an honest, and precise manner, that was the best way to break the news to Finn. And even though he got an answer, that didn't seem that bad. Finn still couldn't help but panic, although for other reasons. He felt like he would have enough time at the island, so he could talk a bit more with his friends, before he left, but he wasn't sure of what he would do after that, since he wasn't sure how he was going to live, on his own, without any of his friends, and in a new ambient, that would probably be very scary, if he had to train where Haze was from.

"I don't know... it feels like a lot... I don't think I could be that good of a warrior... maybe it isn't worth all of this time... I mean, what would happen if I don't get into the training program?? What if I fail??... then I won't be able to be a warrior, and I would have lost months of my life away from home... Without seeing my friends, and girlfriend, an-..." - Finn asked again, even more in panic than before, as he let all of his new worries take over him, and imagine all types of negative possibilities. He didn't know he was that worried about his future, so as he was experiencing this for the first time, he couldn't handle all of it, but thankfully, before Finn could continue scaring himself, with negative ideas, Haze stepped in, and interrupted him.

"Finn... I know what you are feeling... it’s okay, you can take time to think more if you want... I already told you pretty much all I needed, but if you have any more questions you can ask me, I am here to solve all of your doubts..." - Haze said, with her usual serious, and even cold tone, that actually sounded quite friendly, and warm to Finn, as it was all he needed to hear. He finally calmed down, but he still had a few questions that he was planning on making to Haze, since she was there for that, but he hesitated, as he knew it wouldn't be the best time. The dragon girl also felt like that, so even though she wanted to help Finn even more, she decided to end their conversation for today, to let him think a bit more on his own.

"But I can tell you are getting stressed, and that isn't good at all... Maybe we should continue talking about this later, and include some of your friends... that way they can see what you think, and help you make your decision... So just think about it later, and try to relax... I think there is an event going on at the village, so maybe you should go there to ease your mind..." - Haze continued saying, with a voice, that actually sounded very sweet, and kind, which made Finn smile. He was now thinking of what she said, and as he got some of his major doubts resolved, Finn was satisfied with this conversation, that helped him so much, and opened his eyes, to a ton more possibilities in the future, that he could get to explore, if he chose to pursue his mission.

"Thanks Haze, you really helped me a lot today... I will think more about it, but yea... My friends prepared a celebration party and it will be very fun... Maybe you would like to come see, or not??" - Finn asked, with a more playful tone, after he decided not to worry much more about all of the things going in his mind, and invite Haze to the party, since he noticed that it was getting late, which showed how long he spent talking to Haze.

"No thanks, I appreciate it though... Just go have fun with your friends, and enjoy your time at the island... We'll talk later, okay Finn" - Haze replied, with her first smile, that Finn got a bit shy to see. Haze didn't really like parties, and she thought she wouldn't fit with the rest of the villagers, and as Finn realized that, he knew he wasn't going to push it. So after saying goodbye to the dragon girl, and seeing her smile for the first time, Finn stood up, and walked from out of the lake, to head out to see his friends, and celebrate a great night, that he was very eager to experience...

What does Finn do to celebrate Spirit Day?
