Observations of life across the street

In the main room of Danny's apartment, there were four large windows on the wall that ran parallel to the street below. Across the street were two apartment buildings with a narrow alley between them through which Danny could barely see some of the park on the other side of the next block.

The apartment building on the left was The Barkley. It was brown on the outside, slightly ornate (but dated) brickwork around the doors and windows. It was four stories high. The building on the right was The Granderson. It was only three stories high, gray on the outside, very square in its architecture.

It seemed that both buildings were structured similarly in that each floor had two apartments on the street side. If he were to give these apartments a naming system (which he did), he would simply number them by floor, and name them Left and Right, from his perspective. So the top floor of the Barkley was Barkley 4 Left and Barkley 4 Right. The next floor down would be Barkley 3 Left, Barkley 3 right, then the alleyway, and then Granderson 3 Left, and Granderson 3 right. Each of the apartments in both the Barkley and the Granderson were three windows wide, with the exception of those on the first floor. Because of the foyer in each building, the first floor apartments only had two windows each.

Often, perhaps too often, Danny found himself standing at his own windows, gazing across the street. If folks over there had their blinds open and their lights on, it was extremely easy to see whatever might be going on inside.

Which apartment does Danny watch?
