Granderson, 1 Left: Naked Cello Player

On the first floor of The Granderson, there are only two windows on the street side of the apartments as the front door and foyer take up the middle of the building's façade. On the left side, leading into Granderson 1, Left, there's another door from street level directly into the apartment. This was probably originally intended for the superintendent of the building, but in the case of The Granderson, the super lived elsewhere and managed the property from afar.

Instead, the apartment at Granderson 1, Left was occupied by a young woman who played the cello. She was quite a serious cellist, as she practiced for many hours each day, which Danny knew from seeing her by the innermost window very often.

She was equal parts dedicated, predictable, and conservative. And those equal parts were about 95% of what comprised her routine. Her practice sessions were almost always at least two hours in length. they were almost always twice a day -- once beginning around 11am, once beginning around 3pm. And her attire was almost always long skirts with button front shirts that were buttoned to the top. Her clothes were black on days when she had concerts, and various earth tones on days when she did not.

But it was the other 5% -- that's what Danny always had an eye out for. It only took one 9pm practice session to first pique his interest, and earn her the monicker Naked Cello Player.
