Chapter 4 by SpiralFelix SpiralFelix

How does the beginning of the party go? Does Mackenzie make it there without any trouble?

Mackenzie arrives and meets a guy

The chilly winter air blew forcefully against Mackenzie on her journey and the redhead had to struggle to keep her sleek silver party dress from rising. She was extra thankful for wearing leggings that night as she was already starting to feel quite cold, despite her winter jacket and hat.

But a few frigid minutes later, Mackenzie arrived at her destination. Judging by the faint sounds of laughter and music emanating from Amy's house, the party had already started. With an eager smile on her face, Mackenzie opened the front door and entered the party. She soon found Amy, who wasted no time in running over and giving Mackenzie a big hug.

"Oh my god!! Kenz, it's been so long!" the curvy brunette cried happily. The two friends spent a few minutes catching up with each other

"So how was your first semester?" Mackenzie eventually asked.

“It was great!" Amy replied, "Passed my classes, made lots of new friends, y'know all that good stuff. How about yours?”

“Uh,” Mackenzie paused as various memories raced through her mind like a sudden slideshow. Some were certainly good, but a depressingly high number of them were downright embarrassing.

Luckily, before Mackenzie could respond, her two other close friends Lily and Jess showed up too. The four of them were finally reunited, and they wasted no time in catching up with each other's lives. Soon a few boys joined their conversation and Amy facilitated the introductions.

Nate, Tyler, and a particularly cute guy named Mason were all in the same year as the girls, but had gone to different high schools. Nearby Mackenzie could see five other people she recognized from high school. Courtney and Sarah, two girls Mackenzie had been friendly with but not overly close to, were each standing beside two boys named Brandon and Matt. Judging by how the girls clung to them, it was fairly safe to say each pair was an item. All four of them were talking with a tall and muscular boy. That was Garret, Lily's boyfriend of over a year now, and seeing him brought some bittersweet memories back to Mackenzie of her ex: Ryan.

They had split shortly before Mackenzie ventured off to an out of state college in the fall. And Mackenzie's dating life while at school had been subpar at best so far. So, as the redhead refocused her attention on the attractive guy in front of her, she shook those other thoughts from her mind and resolved to get to know Mason a bit better. And, given that there were exactly six girls and six guys at the party, half of whom were already couples, it was a safe bet that this had been Amy's plan to begin with.

Over the next hour, drinks were consumed and music was enjoyed by everyone there. After everyone had a little **** in their system, a few of the girls even started dancing, though Mackenzie refrained. She was much more interested in continuing her conversation with Mason anyway. As the night had gone on, group conversations had naturally fractured off into more one-on-ones. Everything was going smoothly for Mackenzie, and she found herself clicking with Mason more and more. But then, the first hint of disaster struck.

Mason said, "Y'know it's funny but I can't help thinking I recognize you. Have we ever met before?"

A chill shot up Mackenzie's spine. She definitely had never met Mason before, so if he recognized her then there was a distinct possibility it was from one of several different videos online. Videos in which Mackenzie was... more than a little indecent.

"I-I don't think so!" she stammered. "Maybe I've just got one of those faces."

"No, no. I'd remember a face as pretty as yours," he said, making Mackenzie blush slightly. "Maybe..."

But fate intervened once again, because at that moment Amy yelled, "IT'S JACUZZI TIME, BITCHES!"

It took Mackenzie's slightly buzzed mind a moment to process what her friend meant. But everyone else seemed to know exactly what was going on. Jess did have a hot tub out back, but it certainly wouldn't fit all twelve of them!

As if on cue, Jess asked, "Amy, how the hell are we all gonna fit in that thing?"

"Hmm..." Amy said, loudly pretending to think about it for a minute. "I guess the girls will just have to sit on the guys' laps!" She shrugged as if it couldn't be helped before a wide smile appeared on her face.

"Be right back!" Mason said to Mackenzie as he grabbed a nearby bag she hadn't noticed before. The room emptied as the other partygoers also went to, presumably, change into swimsuits.

Before Amy could follow suit, Mackenzie quickly got her friend's attention. "Amy, I didn't bring a bathing suit!"

"Oh shit," she said, "I forgot to tell you to bring one, didn't I?"

"What am I supposed to do? Awkwardly sit near the hot tub while everyone else is in it?!"

"Calm down Kenz, it's fine. I've got the perfect solution."

What is Amy's idea?
