Chapter 15 by Zeebop Zeebop

What Is It An Orientation Program For?

LexCorp Surrogate Corps

Hiding behind the screens, faced away from the speakers, Lois Lane could not get the full effect of the orientation video—but she could hear bits and pieces of the program, and those sent little shivers down her spine, and a strange tingle in her cunt.

"Thank you for your interest in LexCorp! During your term of employment, you will receive the full benefits of LexCorp medical care, room and board covered in our dormitories, educational opportunities through the LexCollege program, and an weekly allowance in corporate scrip to purchase luxuries from the company store..."

It reminded Lois of a timeshare pitch, and the reporter only half-listened to the program, watching instead Maria's face. The young woman's eyes were glued to the screen, wide and barely blinking, and her expression was... Lois struggled to put a name to it.

At first it was wariness, confusion...the reporter couldn't see what was on the screen but she could see slashes of color on Maria's face, the harsh shudder of a flashing pink strobe...and the features relaxed, the tension drained, and there was a sort of...rapt attention. The young woman's breathing was more regular, eyes fixed to follow whatever was happening on screen...and then Lois paid attention to the audio track once again.

"...the purpose of the LexCorp Surrogate Corps is the healthy conception and carrying to term of children. Here at LexCorp, our surrogates know that what they are doing is more than a job—it is a fulfillment, a spiritual awakening to their place as mothers. As breeders for Lex Luthor, we come to understand our role in life, our purpose that we were born for. But don't take my word for it! Let's hear from some of our surrogates!"

Lois shook her head in disbelief. Luthor had done a lot of crazy things over the years, but a surrogacy program? The reporter rubbed her tender stomach, thinking of her own unborn child, glad that she wasn't involved in whatever Luthor's nefarious scheme was. Absently, she shrugged out of her jacket and tied it around her waist. It felt warmer in the room now.

Still...that raised the question of what to do now. She had enough information to write an article, although not enough for the police to open an investigation into things, not without evidence or witnesses. The program was, from what little Lois could hear, nothing more than a glorified infomercial. Maria didn't look to be in any active danger, although the young woman's strange passivity worried the reporter. Maybe she should let it play out a little longer...see if she could infiltrate the facility a little deeper, find something he could use to bring this all down on around Luthor's ears.

Does Lois Go or Stay?
