I'm afraid the plane just departed .

"What?" Mackenzie asked.

"Yes, people used to **** the small delay we allowed for late passengers and we got too many complaints. Now the boarding bridge undocks the second the time is passed and that was one minute ago." Explained the lady.

"But I was delayed in the security screening! You have to stop it, I can’t get a refund on this ticket." She pleaded.

"Everyone knows you should get here in advance to pass the screaning and there is no way to stop the plane. You can take the next one to the same destination, it leaves in 17 hours." Replied the attendant.

"Oh thank you, how long will it take to transfer my ticket on this flight?" Said the redhead filled with gratitude.

"You misunderstood me, you will have to buy a new plane ticket fir the next flight. There are only first class seat left and with last minute prices it would be around 1600$ , will you be paying in cash or credit card?" Enquired the lady after checking her computer.

"What 1600$, but my wallet is in my suitcase, how will I get it back anyway?" Asked Mackenzie.

"Oh don't worry about that, if no one picks it up after 3 hours on the luggage retrieval area it will be stored. After they inspect their content they will send them back here at the airport, it never takes more than 3 months to get them back. About your ticket, if you are not going to get on the next flight I will have to ask you to leave the boarding area." She explained.

Mackenzie shuddered, all her personal effect except for her passport were going to a tropical island were her luggage would be opened before getting home. (If her bags are not stolen and their content pilfered by unscrupulous customs officers)

Her only chance of getting back on track and not losing all the money invested in her vacation was to find 1600$ in less than 17 hours without leaving the boarding area.

And she wasn't even wearing any underwear anymore, her beautiful bikini confiscated by the TSA.
