Chapter 23 by Zeebop Zeebop

Epilogue: Relationship Goals

"Honey, I'm home!" Lois called out.

The table was set. A single candle burned in the darkened dining room. Lois Lane smelled roast duck and potatoes, fried eggplant and fresh oranges. The reporter's stomach rumbled, and she hoped her morning sickness would hold off until whatever feast Angie had prepared.

The reporter dropped her purse and coat, phone and keys, kicked off her shoes and then, and only then, saw the gift-wrapped box on the table.

Angie slid up behind her in a sneak attack, her mouth latching onto her neck, sucking hard enough to leave a hickie. Her hands slid down to cup the reporter's slightly swollen stomach...and then lower, to press against her pussy through her skirt.

"Hmm! What's all this for?" Lois said.

"It's a surprise," the devil said, devilshly. Lois turned her head to kiss her fiance, and she caught a glimpse of that Mona Lisa smile. Angie Blaze was up to something...

...but as long as it had roast duck behind it, she didn't care.

The demon released her fiance long enough for Lois to get to the table. Hovered over the pregnant reporter's shoulder as Lois brought the box toward her. It was the size of a clothing box, but it felt heavier. Undoing the ribbon, she lifted the lid...and there, ensconced in black tissue paper, was a book with bright red leather covers, the title picked out in gold letters: The Book of Blaze.

"Okay?" Lois said.

"Open it!" The demon's hands clutched Lois Lane's shoulders, instinctively moving into a massage.

Lois opened the cover, read an inscription in Blaze's unmistakeable handwriting, scratching and flowing:

TO LOIS
LOVE OF MY LIFE
LIGHT OF MY LOINS

The reporter flipped to the next page...and then the next. A little frown deepened her features. Most of the book was written in English, but there were long passages in what looked like cuneiform, strange diagrams, what looked like pentacles, runes...

"It's...a grimoire?" Lois asked. "A spellbook."

"A very special one. This book has every spell there is concerning...me. With it, you may summon me from any point in time or space, bind me to any task, even utterly destroy me...for it will contain my true name, which gives ultimate power over me."

Angie reached forward and flipped to the back of the book.

It was a copy of the marriage license. Even though the ceremony was next week, Lois and Angie had gone to city hall yesterday. There, shining in golden letters, was the name Angelica Blaze Lane.

"Babe...I don't know what to say," Lois said. It was like her fiance had given her a gun with a bullet inscribed with her name on it. Sweet, but a little creepy and incredibly dangerous.

The demon flipped back several pages, to the start of a chapter titled "Sexual Incantations."

"Say, 'thank you my love,'" the demon purred...and then skipped off, because it smelled like the duck was burning.

In the twelve weeks that Lois had been making love to Blaze, she didn't think anything would make her blush again. As she turned the page, she realized how wrong she was.

"I know you can change the size and shape," she said out loud as Blaze served up the duck. "But two?"

"Or three or four. As many as you want." Blaze's demon eyes did not twinkle, but Lois had known her long enough to see when they were wide with excitement.

"Oooh, and there's a binding spell for your cock, too," Lois said. "We could do edgeplay..."

The reporter found it difficult to decide between reading the book and digging into her dinner...but finally placed it back in the box. Her hunger was almost overwhelming.

"While I am happy to let you sate your lust for devil-flesh," the demon said as she sat down at her own plate. "There is...another reason I give you this gift, wife."

Lois paused, fork in the air. She swore she could feel Junior squirming inside of her, though the doctor said that couldn't possibly happen yet.

"What's that?" There was an edge of worry in Blaze's voice that Lois caught onto.

"If...something happens. If I'm summoned away and bound, say. Or banished from this plane. You will be able to find or call me," the demon squirmed. "And if I...if I ever seem to break my oath...to do evil...to hurt you..."

The demon's eyes met Lois's over the candle flame.

"Destroy me."

The pregnant reporter let out a breath she didn't know she'd been holding. She reached out across the table and grabbed her fiance's hand.

"Let's hope that's never necessary," the reporter said earnestly.

They ate in silence, somber with the weight of their words...but in a way, Lois Lane found herself glad. This was a real sacrifice on Blaze's part. With her powers, she could easily have dominated the relationship, if she chose. Been abusive. **** Lois whenever she wanted. Yet she hadn't. Instead, she had placed herself entirely in the reporter's hands.

Lois hoped she was worthy of that trust. And was determined to make it up to Blaze...starting tonight.

Little did they both know how soon the book would be needed.

Fin?
