Chapter 20 by Zeebop Zeebop

What DOES Lois Become?

End: Broken

"...vagina, anus, and urethra prolapsed and torn, hips and shoulders dislocated, greenstick fractures in every limb you care to name, both eardrums ruptured, there was a cancer we've never seen before eating her uterus, so we had to do a complete hysterectomy. We also had to remove part of her shattered skull to relieve the pressure on her brain, and found semen on the _inner _surface; fluid on both lungs also turned out to also be semen, and they're both infected and operating at less than half capacity. We had to remove what was left of her teeth, and could barely get her intubated because of the swelling in her esophagus from repeated trauma...we're not sure how long she was without air, but we're likely looking at least at a major concussion if not potential brain damage, any number of secondary infections...her appendix burst when it overfilled with semen and we got as much as we could out of the body cavity, but even so we're almost certainly looking at sepsis..."

The doctor shook her head and lowered Lois Lane's chart. "Frankly, Superman, I don't know what to tell you. There's too much damage. She can't even breathe on her own. We can keep her alive for now, but whatever she went through...I've seen **** victims before, but never anything like this. There's not much more we can do."

The Man of Steel appeared to barely be listening. The Daily Planet's greatest reporter was wrapped up like a mummy, arms and legs in traction. Breathing through a tube. Her eyes were open but unseeing, the sockets dark blue and purple from the bruises. The doctor reached over and closed the eyes.

He stood up slowly. The doctor took a step back. It was like watching a timelapse of a mountain being made. There was that sense of great things in the offing.

"With respect doctor, you're correct. There isn't much more you can do. But there are things that I can do. With respect, I'll be taking Lois into my care."

"I..." The doctor hesitated. "I can't do that. There's paperwork...laws..."

Superman nodded. He wasn't listening. "I wasn't asking."

Whatever Happened To The Daily Planet's Greatest Reporter?
by Clark Kent

He read the headline out loud, then quickly scanned the rest of the article. Superman hated to keep up the charade, but Perry White had insisted something be written up about Lois Lane's disappearance from the hospital, the implication of Superman in her abduction. The Man of Steel had resisted pretending to interview himself; and instead focused on quotes from the doctor, hospital staff.

"If only they knew..."

Tired eyes rose to stare at the Kryptonian Matrix at the heart of his Fortress of Solitude. Cobbled together from the ship that had sent him here. What was left of Lois Lane had been placed in the glowing golden oval. Kryptonian technology was rebuilding her...and it had taken all of his intellect and many irreplaceable resources to do it. Refined sunlight was being refracted through the crystals of the icy fortress to feed her new Kryptonian cells...soon, she would be ready. Whole. Born anew. Then there would only be one thing missing.

His Justice League communicator beeped. Batman's image filled a screen to the Man of Steel's right.

"Superman. We've found the culprit. An old enemy of yours. The demoness Blaze. I've contacted the Shadowpact for assistance. She won't escape."

For the first time in six weeks, Superman allowed a cold smile on his lips. "Thank you. I knew I could count on you."

The cowled head nodded. "How is your patient?"

"Ready to decant today. I hope she doesn't mind some of the cosmetic changes." Superman grew serious. "Batman...Bruce. When you find Blaze..."

"We'll take care of it," he promised. "You know I don't kill. But she will pay...and she won't do this to anyone else. Batman out."

The Dark Knight disappeared from the screen. Superman pressed a button, and streams of Kryptonese filled the screen. A green outline of a woman's body rotated on the left part of the screen. "Integration 100%. Vitals optimal. Beginning decant procedure..."

He was holding her hand when she woke up.

"Clark..." She blinked. "Oh! Sorry, Superman."

They shared a laugh. "How do you feel?"

"Good, considering." Lois sat up, holding the sheet up to her chest. "The last thing I remembered was..."

She stopped, looked down. Pulled the sheet aside.

"Those are new," Lois said. The reporter flexed her pectoral muscles. Her breasts, which sat heavy and proud on her chest, moved up and down. Lois Lane's bust had never been bigger than a bare palmful, but these looked almost too big for her hands to hold.

"Side effect of the procedure. I hope you don't mind."

"Not at all! But I..." She blinked. "I was...Blaze...there was so much pain..."

"It's okay. It's okay Lois! I..." He took a breath. "I used Kryptonian technology to rebuild you."

"Rebuild," she said and turned her vivid violet eyes on him. "Not 'heal.' How much of me is human?"

She narrowed her gaze. A bit of his cape on his shoulder smoldered, then burst into flame. Her eyes widened. "Oh!"

Superman patted the flame out. "Heat vision. It can be tricky, but you'll get the hang of it. As for your question...biologically, you're almost 100% Kryptonian. The matrix generates Kryptonian stem cells. I grafted Kryptonian DNA onto your undamaged cells so that they would integrate with the new Kryptonian cells they were generating. They basically cloned you a new body."

"Kryptonian DNA." Lois licked her lips. "Does that mean we're...biologically compatible?"

He smiled. "Theoretically."

"Hmm. I think we need to test that," she said, tossing the sheet aside and scooting over.

"Lois, you just got done with a major medical procedure, are you sure..."

"Clark Kent...Superman...get in bed with me right now," Lois said. "And make me a Superwoman."

She didn't have to tell him twice.

The End
