Chapter 17 by Zeebop Zeebop

What Does Lois Sacrifice To The Idol Now?

Blood For The Blood Goddess

There was an all-night butcher's service in Metropolis. And it delivered. Ten minutes on her laptop later, and Lois Lane had placed an order for two gallons of pig blood and a dozen raw steaks, to be delivered to her apartment within the hour.

Long enough for the reporter to wrap a robe around her naked body. She tied the knot over her swollen stomach, felt the butterflies of excitement as she tried to imagine what would happen if this actually worked. It was so exciting...like the first time she had gotten internet in her own apartment, when she had been able to browse sex shop websites and order things without worrying about anyone seeing what she got up to. But before the delivery person arrived, Lois knew she had to make a few preparations...

Lois spread a towel on the table, set a baking tray on top of it, and put the idol on top of that. Which should help minimize any spillage issues. Brought out a couple scented candles and lighted them, to cover any of the smell from the blood and meat. The reporter almost imagined that the stone was smoother and warmer under her hands than it had been before. Then she fetched her digital camera and a tripod, setting it up to point at the space in front of the idol where Lois would stand when she made her offering.

If this is real, she told herself, and not me being crazy, I should be able to capture my growth on camera. I'll have evidence!

The reporter chuckled as she lay her hand on her bulging belly. Not that she didn't have physical proof right here, but it would be so hot to actually see the growth.

The buzzer rang from the lobby. Lois pressed the button to let the delivery person inside the building. She was almost dancing, anxious and excited. There was just something about this that made her feel like a big kid...or maybe like a young woman, experimenting with her sexuality for the first time. Magic was real, and Lois wanted to see how far it would take her.

A knock at the door. Lois opened it to find a tall, thin woman with wild dark hair and dark eyes, mouth hidden by a facemask. The reporter took the heavy paper bags with a smile of thanks, wishing she'd remembered to grab her own mask—it was the polite thing to do after all—but the woman didn't seem to mind.

"Enjoy your evening," the delivery woman said, with a trace of an accent that Lois had never heard before. Lois nodded her thanks, and then belatedly thought about a tip. She quickly disappeared into her bedroom to get her wallet, but when she returned, the woman was already gone. The reporter ducked her head out into the hallway, looked left and right...but there was no trace of her.

"Huh," the reporter said to herself. She closed and locked the door, and then turned back to her idol and its little makeshift altar.

Because that's what it is, Lois admitted to herself. A pagan idol I'm about to sacrifice to.

Her hand went to the belt holding up her robe. She pulled it, and let the cloth fall to the floor. Heart beating frantically, she pulled out the first gallon jug of pig's blood—like a clear milk carton, only dark and reddish, with a cartoon Porky Pig on the label. Lois broke the seal, and then reached, excitement building inside of her.

"Okay," she said. "Let's see if this works."

Does it work? Does the statue give her more blessings?
