Welcome to The Spinning Lands, a distant fragment within the Plane of Air. A thriving world of high magic, centered around a formless, manipulable, and mysterious source called Ri. Deep secrets lie buried, essential truths hide in plain sight, and a fragile peace holds the populous treacherously unified.

Follow Maia Eidola, an exceptionally talented beginner in the ways of Ri. She hails from distant The Brightgates and, as a recent graduate of a strict prep academy, she now faces an unfamiliar foe: choice.

Maia Eidola's name is customizable as user input, and her appearance can be changed in the Character Creation menu.

To Get the Best Experience

• Customize the name and hometown of Maia Eidola
• Select "Start Game", always play in Game Mode.
• Make sure to use the Character Creation page
• Do not view "Story Map", it contains spoilers and won't may any sense unless you understand the backing variable mechanics and process flow
• Don't be afraid to reset, it's impossible to view all the paths in a single playthrough

Is this a game?

Yes, this is an RPG. There are tons of stats, conditions, variables, and items that play into everything that happens. Many different choices and opportunities are available based on choices made by the player.

What the fuck is going on?

In a word. Loops.

In more words. CHYOA chapters can be links to other chapters, so stories can be non-linear. Statistics can be modified when chapters are viewed (i.e. "Rest" increases the Day count and the current Stamina percentage), these changes can unlock other chapters. Some more complex stuff like character creation and inventory management required a small script to generate the text, but it could be done by hand nearly as easily.

You're story is bad. Can I use your system to make a better story?

My game is broken?

Very possible. Everything here is hacked together using CHYOA's weird variable system. Just viewing this page alone is setting about 50 different variables for questlines and such.

If you see something along the lines of a dark void, or any sort of insectoid noise that means your player state is bad. To fix this, if you are past the introduction you can try using "Pass Time/Relax", if it is not available, try to "Meditate". Both of those options have a general "variable fixing" system that will try to patch the player state.

There is an option for Character Creation? How is that possible?
