Try to grab your morning paper without being seen.

Knowing that the halls of my apartment building are typically empty, I decide to try grabbing the morning paper. After all, if I'm careful, I can shield myself behind the door while I reach for it. Besides, this way, I can check the classifieds while I finish my breakfast.

Getting up, I make my way to my apartment door. My pulse quickens as I look out the peep hole, looking for any sign of anyone outside my door, or nearby. Seeing no one, I unlock the door.

I take a deep breath to calm the flutter in my stomach, then quickly open the door.

Reaching out, I grab the paper, pulling it to myself before looking both ways down the hallway.
