Chapter 4 by Galvan Galvan

What does Kara choose?

Tries to find a way around it

"You said I never built up the capacity my cousin did, right?" Kara asked, mostly to herself. "What if I did it now? Made up for lost time, so to speak?"

"Kara, we don't have the time or assets to invest into your superhero career if it's a decade down the line. Besides, you went through puberty on Krypton, just living on Earth at your age won't do much for you now." Alex responded.

"I know, but that wasn't what I was thinking. If Kal's cells have a better storage capacity than the average Kryptonian's from getting a dose of Earth level sunlight for thirty years, what would happen if a Kryptonian got a dose of a supercharged level of sunlight for, say, thirty days?"

"That might work, but we'd have no way to regulate it. And how would we even get that much sun? There's no way we're letting you out in space with the little amount of solar fuel you have, if you could even get there." Alex said as she cross-referenced Kara's hairbrained idea with the data the medical staff gave her. She seemed to be doing her own calculations in her head.

"The DEO could replicate the radiation signature of Kryptonite in that training room, right? Why not the radiation of yellow sunlight at a higher intensity?" Kara said. She clearly put thought into this.

Alex mulled it over in her mind. She was sure Kara wasn't going to let up about this and she couldn't think about any reason besides the safety concerns, which didn't matter much when they were talking about getting Kara prepared to risk her life for others on a regular basis. After an awkward pause of looking at Kara's doughy eyes, she realized she had to say something.

"Alright," She sighed. "I'll see what the engineers can do."

"Yeeessss!" Kara said as she pumped both her fists in the air in success.

Alex walked out of the room as she looked over Kara's file one last time. She did it partially to see if supercharging was even a thing Kryptonians could do, and partially because looking down at it kept her sister from seeing her smile.

How does it turn out?
