The girl from the high castle

"What's the matter, Willow?" said the newest arrival, a blonde-haired woman in black who looked like Amy Madison. "Don't you recognize me?"

"Of course I do," said Willow. "You're Amy Madison. But since when did you turn Nazi?"

"Oh, almost everyone's a Nazi where I come from," said blonde-haired Amy. "Even you."

"Even Willow?" asked Kennedy. "But she's Jewish."

"She is?" asked blonde-haired Amy. "When did this happen?"

"Since birth," said Willow. "I've always been Jewish."

"Well, I must say that you always hid it well," said blonde-haired Amy. "But then when I see you through my eyes, you don't look Jewish to me."

Kennedy rolled her eyes and said, "So now we're quoting song lyrics from the musical Cabaret?"

Blonde-haired Amy turned toward Kennedy and asked, "There's a musical called Cabaret? What's it about?"

Kennedy replied, "Well, it's about this cabaret singer named Sally Bowles who lives in -- Wait a minute! How did you get here anyway?"

"I'm a vengeance demon," said blonde-haired Amy. "I can teleport anywhere."

"I don't suppose you're one of those cool vengeance demons who works undercover to help out the anti-Nazi resistance?" asked original Amy.

"Oh, you're so funny," said blonde-haired Amy. "You have quite a sense of humor -- but then given your girlfriend's non-Aryan looks, I suppose you have to."

"Hey!" exclaimed original Amy. "At least I'm not a Nazi."

"Oh, so it's going to be that way, is it?" asked blonde-haired Amy. "I never knew that my alternative self would turn out to be such a bigot."

"Seriously?" asked Cordelia.

Willow blushed and said, "I'm sorry you came all this way, Amy, but I'm not the Willow that you were interested in. And even if I were, I could never love a Nazi. So please just go away."

"But you look so much like her," said blonde-haired Amy. "Especially those nipples... And that little tuft of hair right below your belly-but --"

"Still not the Willow you're looking for," said Willow. "So please just go away. I want you to go away. Now."

Blonde-haired Amy just smiled. "Do you want me to go away or do you wish that I go away?"

"What's the difference?" asked Willow.

"If you make a wish, I'd be obliged to grant it," said blonde-haired Amy. "After all, I still have my powers as a vengeance demon. However, if you make a wish down here, the rule of three kicks in. The minute you make your wish, three of your friends will have bad things happen to them. And the more serious the wish, the more serious the consequences."

"What does that mean?" asked Willow.

"For example, if you were to wish yourself back to life, three of your friends would have to die," said blonde-haired Amy.

"But they're already dead," said Willow. "And anyway, Anya once told me that vengeance demons won't grant wishes made by a ghost."

"You're not really a ghost, Willow," said blonde-haired Amy. "And those friends would not just die but disappear from your life -- okay, afterlife -- for good. Anyway, this is a special circumstance so you can wish for anything you want. Even her."

"Her?" asked Willow.

"You know who I mean, Willow," said blonde-haired Amy. "Tara."
