The court sorceress

I decide to speak with Felka, as her seemingly divine knowledge was always respected by my father, and her visions have almost always proven to be true. Almost as if she knows I am going to approach her for advice, she makes her way across the main hall, not even waiting for everyone else to clear out. Her ever-present black cat, Cinder, follows near her, weaving in and out of her legs as she steps across the ornate tiles that make up the floor of the room.

"So, Aerin, you seek my council? Wise indeed, just like your father. You already look much like him, and you act more like his son every new moon." she speaks softly to me.

Indicating that we should confer somewhere more private, we head to her orrery, which neighbors the alchemy labs, library, and her private chambers. I can't help but be amazed by the star map on the ceiling, neighboring planetary bodies and starts being limit by seemingly magical means, constellations moving and warping as if alive versions of the creatures and people they represent. The large, golden telescope dominates the center of the room, dimly lit by green, magical fires in the braziers that periodically line the curved walls.

We take our seats in fancy, high-backed chairs that sit near a small yew table, upon which a small crystal ball rests on top of a small stand built specifically for it. A light magical mist flows along the floor, adding to the mysticism and mystery of the inner-workings of these magical rooms. I can't help but soak in both her beauty and mystery. Felka has been around as long as anyone can remember, and hasn't aged at all since I first met her as a young child. She's still sporting perky breasts, long, flowing hair (although silver at this point), and a mostly youthful face and demeanor. However old she actually is, she hides it all too well.
