She never finds out what it was exactly because it was so cold, sudden, and surprising that she jumps, hits her head against the table, and blacks out for a moment.

When she comes to she finds she is staring at the poorly lit dining room ceiling. Someone must have pulled her out when she hit her head. "Ow... I'm totally giving this place a poor review" she grumbles as she begins to sit up while rubbing the sore spot on the back of her head.
