Someone's In Trouble

Carol flew towards the facility holding Ava tight. the feeling of the rough worn clothes were an odd, but not entirely uncomfortable sensation. Defiantly different from Mikayla's bare skin earlier. For some reason though Carol had a blush on her face. Only she thought she might know why. and it had something to do with the woman in her arms.

Ava was quieter, pensive as they flew through the air. "You know, I can read you." She was lightly drumming her fingers on Carol's bare arm. "Look here for a second."

Carol kept flying her blush rising as she met Ava's green eyes. This was the closest, and longest, she had been to the woman all day. Oh wow, those are so beautiful. "Uh ... y-yes?"

"This." Before she could register it, the woman's lips were on her own. Just briefly, but they lingered as they moved away. "Fuck what they say about workplace romance." She smiled. "That was worth it." She grabbed a handful of Carol and nuzzled into her shoulder. "Let's get home."

Carol's eyes we wide, but not really as wide as her grin. She let out the most girlish squeal ever as she rocketed towards the base that was now in sight. Once close she shot straight up in the air. Ava's legs falling until they were parallel with Carol's. then before Ava could react, Carol kissed her again, only this time much longer.

The two rocketed up into the sky, embracing. Ava hungrily devoured Carol's kiss, even sneaking in a little tongue and giggling through it all. It lasted a while, until they started to get too high.

Carol began to slowly bring them back to the ground, still hungrily attacking Ava's lips as they lowered to the ground. Once their feet touched the cool grass, Carl couldn't help herself. If those two goofy lovebirds could do it, so can I! "Ava ... I ... gulp ... i want to be at your side ... no matter what."

She cocked her head and raised an eyebrow. "What?!" she smiled big and kissed Carol on the cheek. "I get the sentiment. Really." Then, holding Carol's hand, she turned around.....and came face to face with Natasha, about 100 feet away. Followed by a massive crowd, including all of the Avengers. "Welcome back, girls. Fun trip? I see Danvers packed light."

Carol felt to happy to let Nat's words sting. She smiled still holding Ava's hand. "Yes! A perfect trip! A city, hell maybe a whole universe saved, a woman helped, in more ways than one. And ..." No, I'll think I'll keep that to myself.

Nat kept at it. "That's all well and good but-" "AHEM." Suddenly a familiar friend broke through the crowd. "I think that will be all, Agent Romanoff."

Natasha just looked aghast. "Steve, this isn't exactly the time-" Steve just raised an eyebrow. "Believe me, as a friend....this is for your own good." He raised a hand and signaled. Suddenly, another familiar face came through the crowd. One that Carol knew even better. A gruff, but well meaning face, with a patch slung over one eye. He had started to gain some stubble, though she had remained the same. "You might be wondering about my....extended presence. There are some scared, powerful people out there. Your little trip to the big city....well, it's gone viral. On every major news outlet in the country, and overseas. Carol, your um....Face is plastered everywhere. And while some may see something else, I saw a hero, and a friend at work. You fought off a proverbial dragon from our very, very small world. The Council came to a vote and...." he turned to the crowd so they could hear. "From today on, SHIELD has been reinstated. Along with the public reveal of something we call....SWORD. Together, they will protect your world. Because it is our world, too." Natasha's eyes went wide. She had one question, uttered in almost a whisper. "Director?!" Nick turned to her, and looked very serious. "You're damn right. Come with me."

For the first time she could remember, maybe the first time ever, Nat looked nervous. Maybe even scared as she followed Fury into the building. As they walked everyone cleared a path for the two, a if they could sense the radiating anger and fear. Carol whispered to Ava, "well ... that;s uh ... okay then." My face, my body, is on literally every T.V. in the world right now ... everyone in the world has seen me by now. For once she couldn't help it. She gripped Ava's hand tighter and rested her head on Ava's shoulder blushing.

Carol's head was still resting on Ava's shoulders as the crowd, well some of them anyway, began to head back into the facility. "Ava," Carol whispered so only she could hear. As she spoke and continued, her blush grew deeper. "Um ... I uh ... I've seen your room today. W-would you like to ... see mine?"
