Carol smiled, "no, no you're not. Trust me I wish you were too." Carol changed direction heading for the apartment building, hoping there was a balcony to her place. Knowing woman's luck with nudity lately that probably wasn't the case. "We're not too far, plus the traffic is pretty clear up here. Should be there in no time."

"Per-Permanent!?!" Then she looked down. "Oh...I'm...sorry, just that's....I can't even imagine...." she shuddered. "I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't wear clothes. I have school tomorrow....I'd rather not imagine." She shifted a little more. "You're a real hero, you know?"

Carol smiled, blushing at the comment. Not about her nudity, about being a hero. She never thought of herself as one, just as a person doing what she could to help. "Well, I appreciate that thank you." Carol said. "But I'd sure feel a lot better if I could have my uniform back.

Carol wanted to get back to the others, and back to the comfort of Ava. Wait, when did having Ava close by become such a calming thing? Carol thought blushing. Anyway, she couldn't leave this poor girl here like this. Carol sighed and crouched next to her. Once again resting a hand on Mikayla's shoulder. "How can I help sweetie?"

Carol sighed. She blushed beeper as she thought of the only solution to the problem. Well, the only logical solution anyway. Braking down his door and beating the guy up was her first thought, but Mikayla might not appreciate that one. "Okay sweetie. Tell you what, I'll knock you stand behind me so he can't see you okay?"

She took a deep breathe, closed her eyes and adorably bit her lip. She shook herself out a little, even bouncing on her toes. It was cute as heck, but Carol didn't stare. "Okay, my arms are getting tired.....oh god, here goes!" She stayed behind Carol, basically skipping to keep up with her until they got to her crus- friend's front door.

Making sure Mikayla stayed behind her Carol said, "alright sweetie, just stay low and behind me." Carol did blush but put on a stoic face. Not covering herself. *It's the least I can do. My pictures and interview is probably all over the internet by now, this poor girl shouldn't have to go through that. Taking a deep breath Carol knocked on the door.

There was a sound of someone coming down stairs. "Be right there, one moment, I-" Then shuffling. For a few minutes. Finally the door opened. "Um...oh god, are you serious? Lady.....wait, are you ok?" Then his eyes flickered over her shoulder. Then down to the ground, catching two pairs of bare legs. "Wai- Mi-Mikayla?!" He looked back and forth. "What's going on here?" He was a pretty tall young man, with a lanky but well built look. Could have played basketball, if he wanted. He had short, well maintained light brown hair. And pretty handsome features. He also had no idea what to do with naked girls at his door, especially one he liked. A lot.

Carol smiled, seeing the guy's reaction to them, well mostly Mikayla. It all instantly clicked. There was no reason any guy would look past bare skin like Carol's to the covered woman behind, unless of course ... oh! And Mikayla's reaction earlier. It all made sense now! "Hey!" Carol said waving her hands in front of the guys face. "Earth to Dan?! Two things, first Mikayla really needs her key, for obvious reasons, second, could you get her a jacket or something? In case you haven't noticed," Carol paused and leaned forward a little, being careful to expose the poor girl behind her, "it's chilly out here and this sweet, beautiful girl has no jacket."

"No...no she doesn't...um...Mikayla." He stared ahead for a second, then blushed. "Yeah, of course, any jacket, just take one. Both of you, really." This guy was one of the good ones it seemed. He rummaged around in a closet just behind the door, pulling out two large coats. "Mikayla...just don't let your dad find it...." the girl seemed to relax a little, then squealed and covered herself even though she was behind Carol. "Ok Dan! THANK YOU! UM...." then she got quiet again, feeling awkward. "Sorry, this is weird but...." she looked back and forth over Carol's shoulder, then stood on her toes to look at Dan properly. "Thank you.....Dan."

Carol took the first jacket from him but declined the second since there was no point in her trying to wear it. "Thank you Dan," Carol said. He still looked at the both of them dumbfounded. Carol paused turning her head slightly. He still didn't get the message, typical. "Dan?!" She said. "Huh yeah ... what?" Carol put on a pretend annoyed face. "Turn around so she can put it on."

"Oh, um ok..." He looked a strange combination of sad and understanding. I mean, of course he still wanted to see his dream girl naked. At his door or otherwise. But he manned up and turned away, instead busying himself with a box on a small drawer next to the stairs. "You gave me your spare. Here- oh my god! I'm sorry!" He turned around again immediately.

Thankfully by the time he turned around, Carol was holding up the coat for Mikayla, so all he got to see was Carol's bare butt. "You're lucky she was covered Dan." Carol said in a somewhat mean tone. Once Mikayla was dressed in the coat, they both turned to Dan, "Y-you uh ... you can look now." Mikayla said still blushing.

He turned around, and his eyes still seemed to sparkle. Yup, there was something here. He seemed to be unable to tear away from her, despite her shy demeanor, a little sweaty and dirty and standing barefoot on the sidewalk in nothing but a too-large coat trying to stop it from slipping off of her small shoulders, her hair a mess. In fact, she looked like a dream. "Sure...Mikayla, um...are you ok?"

Mikayla's arms were inside the coat, holding it to her body and keeping it up. "Uh ... n-not really no ... I just ... wow this is ... like really embarrassing ... uh ... I'm fine now, thank you Dan." Carol couldn't help but grin. She knew Mikayla's embarrassment wasn't ONLY because of her nudity. Just kiss him already! She thought.

As if the girl could hear her thoughts, she slowly tip toed over to the young man, and then.....she stepped up and kissed him on the forehead. "Thank you.......I'll be seeing you." Dan smiled a goofy smile. "I'd like that." She shifted and just then.....the too large coat fell down to her ankles! Dan noticed and kept looking into her eyes, despite her nudity. "Um, Mikayla!"

Carol was immediately on the job, she leapt forward and clamped her hands over the young mans eyes, but not before they wandered all the way down and back up. She couldn't really blame him though, not really anyway. "Makayla! Put it back on!" Dan was blushing too. "M-Mikayla I ... I didn't see anything!" Yeah right! Carol thought. More like I didn't see anything I won't forget for the rest of my life!

Mikayla squealed, running back over to her door without even getting the coat. Well, there goes that gesture. This whole thing would never end if they did it like this. The two were head over heels, it was obvious. Dan just blinked. "I just saw her.....wow....um....is she gonna be ok?" He slowly handed the key to Carol. "You kind of look familiar....I think I can trust you."

"You can trust me, and I'm going to do you a huge favor." Carol sighed and uncovered his eyes. Sorry Mikayla, but trust me. I'm sure you;'l thank me later. "Look Dan, you seem like a sweet guy. Pick up that coat and put it over her shoulders, and tell her ... I don't know, something, and not about her body. Trust me when I tell you, she feels the same way."

He took the coat, without even looking at her. "Thank you....I think I will. Yeah." Mikayla was crouching next to her door, almost in tears. "Oh my god, no Dan! I'm still naked! You can't, please, just leave me....I...." Suddenly she felt a coat around her shoulders. "No...I'm going to help. I'm here....that's the only place I want to be. I want to be with you when you need me. I need you too.....God, you're just....you make me feel warm, and happy and safe...I want you to feel that, Mikayla..."

Mikayla jumped up and wrapped them both in the coat. "Come here you doofus. Just a hug though, mister!" They hugged out of sight. Dan's mind was blown. He could feel her soft, warm body against him. And he knew there was something more. They kissed for the first time, but Carol gave them enough privacy. "Um....Captain? Can you let us in?" that was Mikayla calling around the corner. "CAPTAIN!?!"

Carol rounded the corner, still not covering but Dan was completely focused on Mikayla instead. Carol was smiling a happy grin for the two. "Sure thing lovebirds," she said before opening the door. "There you go."

Mikayla got a funny look, then squealed, but this time she was laughing too. She ran right out of the coat into the apartment. "Come on Dan!" He just stood there, coat around his own shoulders, befuddled. "Um....you're her, huh? Thank you. Really. You're the real deal." Then he followed eagerly behind and shut the door.

Carol couldn't help but laugh. "Crazy kids." She said playfully rolling her eyes. After everything that poor girl went through, she needed that win. Carol stopped back outside and flew up heading back to her fellow Avengers. By the time she got back, Dr. Strange and the others had gotten all of the other women back home. "Carol," he said, "what took you so long?" Carol shrugged. "Sorry, had something way more important to take care of."

Strange shrugged. "Either way, the job is done. You did enough today. I'll be passing along the news....if it didn't already make the world press." She shuddered a little, remembering the news copter. Thor was nowhere to be seen, so it was safe to assume he was off, very far off in the beyond. Ava was slowly walking up to her. And....Carol caught herself being disappointed as she saw she was wearing some obviously worn in clothes. "S-sorry...Carol...we" Strange answered for her. "Lost and found, at the Police Department. Couldn't help herself, and she has nothing to be sorry for."

Carol was disappointed, but strangely it wasn't because she couldn't get dressed. I-is it ... because Ava is? Carol refocused on Ava. "Sweetie, you have nothing to apologize for." Carol said truly meaning it. "Come on," she said holding her hands out. I'll fly you back to base? It's not too far."

Ava smiled weakly. "Yes....it was...tiring. But I think I did something good. It made me....well I'm happy!" She grabbed onto Carol as she left the ground. Strange waved. "Another day, another mess. We're one slip away from total annihilation. Well...." he magicked up a portal, and pulled a book from his shelf in the Sanctum. He leafed through it to a page with a familiar building being torn in two. Suddenly, it began to play like a video. "We have to study our past to protect our future. It's just duty, right?" He looked solemn, but one could barely catch a smirk.
