Chapter 560 by Fiftyfiftyfifty Fiftyfiftyfifty

What do you do?

Plan with Nyllia.

It isn't long before Amara and Yin make their way inside as well.

You're about to open your mouth to break the silence when you see Peony squish her cheek and her chest up against the living room window. Yin steps over, and she twists the lock and proceeds to pull the window open. A refreshing breeze wafts into the room, and the dryad leans partially over the windowsill with a big smile on her face.

"Can I listen too?" she asks.

"Of course you can," you reply. "You live here too."

The other two girls take a seat across from you, and finally, Nyllia returns to speaking.

"I do know where we can hunt a wyvern, Mr. Warren. It should not be far, nor should it take long. As for the rest, how have things gone? I hope you were able to find the flower you were seeking. I also hope the others are well."

"We did, and they are," you reply. "And that's great. Thanks, Nyllia. You're a really big help."

Suddenly, things feel strange. There's a tension in the air that wasn't there a moment ago. Everyone is quiet, and when you look around, you see Amara looking a little embarrassed. She fidgets with her fingers in front of her stomach, and glances shyly to the side. Your mind races to figure out what's going on, and it hits you hard.

"You are on a first name basis with her as well?" Amara asks quietly.

"S-Sorry! I meant Lady Tesgella. I just spent days on a trip with Amara, and you know how it is. Nobody in the house calls her Ms. Tedrilui, right?" you try to explain yourself.

"You did so even in Morniwo, hmm?" asks Nyllia. "How interesting."

"I don't understand what's going on," Peony chimes in.

Nyllia readjusts herself and sits up straight. "Regardless, I believe we should set out as soon as possible. This threat does not need the full **** of your household, Mr. Warren. A wyvern can be slain by just the two of us. Perhaps it will be so short that the others will hardly have a chance to rest after their trip."

"What do you mean by just the two of us?" you ask.

"Ah. Yes. Allow me to explain." She stands up from the sofa and steps over to the other elf sitting across from her, and she offers her hand. Amara takes it, and she pulls her up. "I would like to ask something of you, Ms. Tedrilui."

Amara looks surprised, like she isn't certain what to say in response. "Oh?"

"I know you are the party's support, and the two of you are close, but would you allow me to borrow Mr. Warren for just a few days? I swear on my life that no harm will befall him as long as I am around." The way she speaks--you believe those words. She has a serious expression as always. The way she explains things suggests she has full confidence that she'll succeed, as if this is just another day of her job.

"I do not doubt that, Lady Tesgella, but I am curious of the reason," Amara responds.

"It is rather simple." She turns to face you with a kind smile. "If I am to follow a man into battle against the Demon King, I must be confident in his abilities as well as my own. I have hardly seen Mr. Warren in action, and I have no doubt in my mind that he is skilled, though I need to see it for myself. A test, if you will, to prove that he is worthy of being followed."

"That makes sense," Yin speaks up. "He is definitely worthy though!"

Amara smiles in return. "I agree with your plan. We would be incredibly grateful to be granted your aid in the battle against the Demon King."

"No kidding," you say. "That makes me feel a lot better about our odds."

Jelly scoots closer until she can lay her head on your shoulder. "Leaving again?" she asks quietly.

"Y-Yeah. Sorry, Jelly, but we'll be back soon."

"Will you give... more fluids?"

You turn to see that the rest of the girls are staring back with eyes filled with confusion and concern. "She consumes water. Not just materials," you quickly say.

"No... I like all fluids," she whispers and begins wrapping herself around your arm. "Yummy fluids."

"That's great! We'll get you some juice or something." You begin to awkwardly pull away, but she stretches along with you like a wad of gum.

Nyllia steps slowly towards you--metal boots clanking against the floor. She casts her gaze down from above. "Will we need to have a lesson in restraint on this trip as well, Mr. Warren?" Her hand extends down for you to grab.

She's one to talk. "Are we leaving already?" you ask as you take the hand.

She grips you tight and yanks you up from the seat--Jelly letting you go as she does. "Of course. The day is early, so we can get a head start on the trip ahead of us. Come now. I am incredibly curious to see what you are capable of, especially as a knight of Tivera. Certainly you can uphold that title, yes?"

"I sure hope so."

With her so close, she begins to speak quieter--gently. You gaze into her beautiful pink-coloured eyes. Despite her strength, she dresses and moves with elven grace. Her armour is slim to accentuate her natural curves, with gaps in strategic locations, such as her thighs, and around her chest to show just a little bit of cleavage. She may be a warrior, but the soft scent of flowers wafts beneath your nose, and her light, pink locks blow loosely in the breeze sneaking in through the open window.

"In all seriousness, Mr. Warren, I will be both your sword and shield. I do not break my promises. Like I said to Ms. Tedrilui, I will make certain that you suffer no harm on this quest. Stay behind me if you must. As much as I would like to see your potential, I do not wish to see you fall, so resist pushing yourself too hard. All right?"

When I first arrived in this world, I thought I could becoming a shining hero, like in an RPG. But the hero is right in front of me. I wonder what I am. The irony is that from what I've learned about my body, I might be the exact opposite of a hero. Would Nyllia still accept me if she knew I was meant to be a demon king? I still don't know what that means. Though I think at this point, the whole household is aware, and they don't care... The woman in the lab coat said the power has to evolve naturally. I am levelling up, I guess. But others do that too.

"Thank you, Lady Tesgella," you say. "Let's head right out then if that's the plan."

She nods and then turns back to the others. "I promise not to keep him long. We should be back in fewer than four days if all goes well."

"And if the others return before that, you can simply use the Arcane Eye to communicate with us," Amara says.

"You have a good party, Mr. Warren," Nyllia says.

Amara smiles as colour comes to her face.

What do you do?
