Chapter 495 by Fiftyfiftyfifty Fiftyfiftyfifty

What do you do?

Wait in the courtyard.

You chat with RJ a little bit, but he mostly goes on about rocks. Larsith is strangely quiet and simply watches from the crowd. The Ostowl sisters appear panicked the entire time, but have no way to save their queen. After an hour of humiliating ****, Malakae is finally free. Lady Sulta actually helps her with her clothes and escorts her elsewhere to get dressed again, and instructs everybody to leave her be.

Geeze. That was a hot show. Between that and that school adventure, I'm all worked up. This whole world is a tease. I swear. Is it just Avana that's weirdly sexual all the time, or is the entire world? Anyway, I'm not gonna keep complaining. I'll just go relax. I have questions for Eva too, but she's making me wait. I guess I shouldn't rush her. She did get hit by a dragon's breath today. I thought I was gonna be the first to experience something like that, knowing my luck.

The field behind the academy is large. The grass is nicely maintained, and the day is still warm despite the sun being on its way to the horizon. You stand in the much-earned silence. The only sound is from a breeze wafting through the blades of grass, and the trees in the distance. No snobby nobles talking down on you. No boring classroom lectures. You look up to see some colourful birds flapping by.

Close to the two hour mark, you see Eva walking towards you. She has a wicker basket in her hand with a red and white plaid blanket folded up on top. She places it down at your feet, and then smiles up towards you. "Thanks for coming," she says.

There's something different about her. Her blouse is still blue, though it's less revealing than usual. Though nothing can fully contain her chest, the only part of her stomach you can see if the very bottom right above her waist. She has a skirt still, but pale blue stockings cover her legs beneath. You look closely to see her lashes looking darker than usual, and there's a faint blush on her cheeks. Her hair is all cleaned up, but even moreso than it normally is, with a cute clip of a white rabbit's face parting some of her hair to the side.

"What's... up?" you ask nervously. You didn't expect it to be hard to speak, but there's something about her aura. She's normally cute, and has a smoking hot body, but now there's a grace you haven't seen since you took her to the ball a long time back. You remember how she looked then. Her dress was fit for a magic princess. It's strange to think about it now, given you had no idea about her family's roots back then. She loved the ball, which is interesting. Although she forsook her noble heritage, it was due to how terrible so many of them have been. It isn't balls she dislikes, or dresses, or other fancy things. Perhaps she even yearns for them--misses them.

"A picnic, silly." Eva lifts up the blanket. "Can you give me a hand?"

You take the other side, and together you unfold it onto the grass. "That actually sounds really nice right now."

"You think so?" Her smile brightens. "I got some help from Ms. Labing."

The seamstress. So that's where she's been?

She sits down on her knees, and pats the blanket next to her. You pull yourself down and join her. It's incredibly peaceful, which is something you thought was impossible with Eva. Though, she sits there in silence--a beautiful bunny, with hair blowing in the breeze. Birds chirp, and the sun shines. She looks to you with her bright blue eyes and a heart-warming smile.

"Shall we?" she asks and pats the basket. "I made sandwiches."

"You made them?"

"Wh-What does that mean?" She frowns. "Do you think only Amara can make--"

You chuckle. "I didn't say anything. You keep assuming. I'd love to try them."

Colour fills her cheeks--consuming the blush she's wearing. Perhaps putting it on was unnecessary. "Really? Then let's eat!" With a giggle, she opens it up and dishes out the sandwiches. She pours two cups of water as well, and hands one share to you. They seem to be filled with tomatoes, lettuce, ham, and cheese. They're simple, but the ingredients are fresh, and they taste rather good.

You chew it down and let out a happy sigh through your nose.
