Opens The Door

Not wanting to wait in fear and intrigued by the knocking Aaron curls a hand around the cool metal handle. A tremor of adrenaline run's through his body as he wrenches the handle downward in one fluid motion and pulls open the door. Aaron can feel his heart pounding in his chest as he sees nothing stood before him.

Instinctively he steps out into the corridor and briefly glances left and right before a sigh of relief slip from his trembling lips. Unsure of what has caused the sound and curious to find out more he quickly spun around and closed the door to his apartment. Aaron was sure he was being watched as he stood in silence and strained his ears to hear something, anything.

Time seemed to slow down as the eerie silence was shattered by a petrified scream that echoed down the corridor to his left. Aaron stood in fear as a low guttural snarl followed the shrill scream as he pondered whether to ignore the noise or investigate it...
