Chapter 456 by Fiftyfiftyfifty Fiftyfiftyfifty

What do you do?

Figure out a plan.

"Goodbye, Ms. Labing." Eva bows. "Thank you for the clothes."

"Anytime. So what are you two up to?" she replies.

"We're just hoping to get some information about a certain someone," you say. "Research. It's important, but we're also not sure where to start. And it's sensitive too, so we don't really want to blab about it to everybody. Maybe we should check out the library again?"

"But they might still be there," Eva mutters.

Ms. Labing taps her chin. "Well, that all sounds super mysterious. I'm no scholar, but why don't you check out some of the classes? There are brilliant professors here at Redbloom Academy."

"Can we do that?" you ask.

Eva nods. "They're lectures. This isn't a school for children. And with your ring and that piece of paper from the Acting Grand Master, we should be able to sit in on any classes we want. I hope."

"Good luck!" Ms. Labing says.

The two of you depart from her office and begin walking down the hallways once more. The odd student walks past with packs full of books. You have one of your own, though it's mostly filled with adventuring supplies. It's the one part of your uniform that doesn't quite match. It seems to be fine to have your sword with you as well.

As you and Eva continue to walk, you speak up. "Hey. About what I was asking before..."

She stops. "I'm sorry, Kyle. I don't really want to talk about it."

Seeing Eva sad is heartbreaking, and unusual. But if she doesn't want to talk about it, I can't **** her.

"So what class should we go to?" you ask.

Eva looks around. "Let's just pop into the first one we see in progress. Why not? We'll check out as many as we feel like, and then I guess you better start preparing yourself before dusk."

"You don't seem too worried."

"Of course not." She turns with a little smile on her face. "Because I know you'll kick his butt."

I did do it once already. Though, I don't trust anything anymore, especially fights. Something always happens.

"So what do you think about that dragon lady?" you ask.

"I'm more worried about her. She even got him to fight for her. They're not a part of the same family, you know. He just did that. I'm not sure if it's because he felt threatened by the political power of her house, or because he was thirsty."

You chuckle. "Yeah. Maybe a bit of both."

As you near one of the doors, you can hear the sound of speaking. Eva's ears twitch. She stops and peeks into the window of a room beside her, and then she turns to you with a nod. "Here's one. After you?"

"I thought it was ladies first," you reply.

"Well, I'm still not entirely sure if our entrance will be welcome, so..."

"Then you go in first!"

"I thought knights were supposed to be gentlemen."

You roll your eyes. "It's just a door I guess." With a turn of the knob, you push the door open.

Inside is a classroom with a couple dozen desks in arching lines all facing a desk in the front of the room. There are many students filling the seats, though you do spot a few openings. The two of you make your way silently through and towards those seats. Thankfully, nobody stops you. After sitting down, you look forwards to the professor in the middle of her lesson.
