An old icon helps out

After what felt like forever, River saw a new silhouette come her way. What looked like a lone stranger, who began shouting at the kids l. “Hey, don’t you kids have a dinner to get to?” The children all stopped laughing, and each mischievously grabbed a handful of jelly before running off into the distance. The stranger then wandered out of River’s view, leaving River in suspense. After a short while though, she felt her body and limbs able to loosen up as the jelly around her began to melt. Her wobbly prison eventually collapsed altogether in a liquid mess and River dropped to the floor.

Upside, she could finally move again. Downside, she was still naked as the day she was born, and now feeling incredibly sticky and cold from the jelly, she was going to need another shower. River turned to look up at her rescuer, it was a blonde woman, dressed in a black leotard and leggings. Holes had been cut in the leotard, and acted like windows to both her breasts and belly button, but they were adorned with transparent armour playing that looked specially moulded. She posed seductively and with confidence, and in her hand she carried a smoking and retro looking space gun. Not retro as in old tech mind, more the type of retro in that this is what the people of ancient history thought future technology would look like.

“Well well, when I was told to go and fetch our visitors, I didn’t quite expect the visual feast,” she smirked with a raised eyebrow. And with that, River instantly recognised her. “You’re Barbarella!” She jumped up to her feet with an almost childlike giddiness, forgetting her nude state once again. “You know me?” “Oh do I know you. I picked up every issue I could when I was stuck in New York waiting for the Kovarian chapter to pick me up. Read everything from that original 60’s run, even dipped my toes into that 2017 comeback. Mind you, what on Earth was that movie adaption all about? I mean Jane Fonda was great but the character was all off.” Barbarella looked amused, she was enjoying the recognition. “So you’re a fan then?” “Oh am I just. All those cunning plans, daring escapes, witty quips and sexual escapades, you made quite the impression. Never thought I’d get to meet you.”

River was almost transfixed on Barbarella. A light breeze caressed River’s skin and reminded her of her current predicament, and without averting her gaze she moved her hands to cover her crotch and gave an embarrassed smile, “And I definitely never thought it would be like this.” Barbarella chuckled slightly, “Well, I’m certainly flattered. But sadly, there’s no time for chit chat, the Master wants to speak with you immediately.” River’s eyes widened slightly, “Wait did you just say the Master?!” But before River could inquire more, Barbarella pointed her gun at River and a bright flash of light sent her to sleep.
