Introduction to the world

This chapter is a brief introduction to the world and the setting this fantasy story will take place in. The world is known as Indica, the middle plain between Ignus below and Altruis above. Indica is a plain of existence that was constructed by the gods for the sole purpose of playing out their grand chess games with the lives of their followers. The world is split into two main and similarly sized continents, home to many races that historically have been at constant war with one another.

The gods have seen fit to bestow gifts onto those they deem worthy of heralding their names - these gifted individuals are called Mystics, men and women with powers above and beyond what their lesser mortals could ever hope to achieve.

Recently, races on both continents have put aside their internal differences to gear up for a very different kind of war - an external one. With both continents having recently discovered the other, a race in time to unify has begun.

At the center of this unprecedented time on Indica, a teen is found bearing all 5 of the mystic marks - tattoo like bearings that denote what class of mystic the child was born into. Duel blessed and even Tri blessed Mystics aren't unheard of, but a fabled Hex blessed Mystic is something only out of the story books. That is, until now.

If you'd also like to add any of your own branches to the story then feel free, I have it set on moderated so I can check for ToS breaches but the story is open for public submission - so long as the branch doesn't continue from the most recent chapter.
