Body Control/Possession Collar!

The calendar on your computer reads 2/13/2040 as you stare at the news report. This wasn't good, honestly.

NeuroCo was a company founded in the year 2015 which had changed the world since its first public device - the Gene Editor 500 had gone public. Of course it was heavily restricted due to the sheer nature of the device, but the small implant allowed doctors to monitor people's vitals remotely, send more blood or white blood cells where needed, send nanobots to sites of infections, kill cancers remotely... it was basically an easy mode in life. Millions, if not billions of people got this small chip installed into their lower brain stem. Of course there was the occasional horror story with them going wrong or being abused, but this was a one in a million case. You had a 1000x higher chance to die in a car crash getting the chip installed than anything going wrong with it!

However this was different. NeuroCo had almost gone offline for nearly five years now, as it seemed that they were happy with both helping paralyzed people walk again and in their billions upon billions of dollars that the governments of the world had given them for these devices. Warfare was very different now, as people were able to ignore injuries or boost their adrenaline if needed with a simple click of a button.

But this... this leaked device had nothing to do with that at all. You watched the news report quickly update as you read it -

New "Possession Collar" brings fears to the street of the nation...

Okay then. So it appears that NeuroCo had invented some new miracle device, this time it was some collar that allowed people to control other people. What the hell was going on? How was that approved? You thought they had some contract with the government against cruel and unusual devices but this was different... you sighed to yourself as you sipped your coffee and read more.

Apparently the device linked to the central nervous system and if worn would allow people to be controlled by anyone who had the receiver helmet... you'd be able to both remotely control their actions and take full control of them, possessing them. All the while they'd be unable to resist... sounds like true science fiction. You did not care how far science had come, but being able to remove full motor control was impossible. Illegal, at least.

As you continued to think there was suddenly a knock on the door as you jumped. Shit... who could it be?
