18 year old Percy

Percy sat in disbelief at the news report before him. How dare some disgusting pervert steal this device? It clearly was meant either for medical usage or something else but really now someone had ruined the fun for everybody. We could have had a new Gene Editor but instead we have a national manhunt for some disgusting device that could manipulate the world forever. How would we know if someone was being controlled? Yeah, they would have the collar but if they were hiding it somehow that wouldn't be good. And the person controlled is fully aware? The feeling gives Percy shivers as he hates to think of it like that.

Perhaps most concerning was the fact that the device had landed in his hometown of Los Angeles. He lived in the suburbs but he had read from quite a few sources that it was contained and stolen from the headquarters in LA, and now it could be anywhere in the city. If a celebrity goes crazy or something at least we probably know why now.

As he continued to read he kept finding more and more information... the "possessor" as some media outlets are calling it would be able to feel everything that the "mount" feels, and that they'd be able to manipulate what they feel. They could turn off pain or increase sensitivity for all they care. He looked outside at the snow, it rarely snowed in Los Angeles if ever but there was a frothy white layer outside. As he was lost in thought he suddenly heard a knock at the door. Shit, who was it? Was it someone from his family or whatever else? Maybe it was his girlfriend, she was supposed to come over today but she often just let herself in. As far as Percy knew, everybody was out today so it could also be some disgusting robber. What if they had the collar? Haha... wait... no, the odds of that happening are insanely low.

Maybe it was a friend who his mom let in - was his mom even home? The door was usually unlocked, they lived in a good neighborhood. Or maybe it could just be a package. He did live very close to the front door so it may have been an echo.

Suddenly they knocked again. Stupid Percy! He often got lost in his thoughts so he quickly rushed to the door and opened it...
