He sighed. Jobs can suck, and thinking of his -- now former -- office cubicle he knew how badly. He'll forgive her...

"It's okay, Yuki," Josh said. "I bet your jobs ain't great, answering phones all day, and... well, I wasn't always ruler of the world."

Yuki's voice cracked over the line. "R-Really? I-It's really okay?"

"Yeah..." Josh felt confused. "Don't mention it."

Nervous, but quiet, laughter filled his ear. "Ahaha, oh wow... I knew you were a nice man! You can't be Ruler of the World without being fair!" Her voice became low. He could almost see her crouching at her desk so no one around her could hear. "Some of my coworkers here think you're some dictator or something, but after seeing how you handled the China affair, well... I don't know how ANYbody can think that."

Josh had no idea what the China affair was or how he handled it exactly, but he made a note to phone an advisor or something with that info. Surely he had advisors.

"Oh really?" Josh laughed. "Anybody I should be worried about?"

"Oh! Uh, no sir!" Yuki fumbled with the phone.

"Yuki, it's okay... I'm joking."

The phone crackled with a relaxing breath. "Of course... wow..."

"Yuki?"

"It's just..." Her smile was so wide even Josh swore he could see it. "I'm talking to the Ruler of the World like... like he was my friend or something."

Josh grinned. She sounded cute. The image of a petite Japanese woman formed in his mind with professional, short hair; a business blazer; and a skirt displaying gorgeous, stocking-wrapped legs. He wondered how much of that was true, and made another mental note to find her file.

"What's your full name Yuki?"

"Uh, Y-Yuki Tachibana, sir."

"Noble name," Josh said without thinking. "A royal name." Josh paused and wondered how he knew that when before "Tachibana" only meant a creepy reference to the video game Fatal Frame to him.

"Y-Y..." Josh could almost feel Yuki blushing.

He shook his head and continued, "Yuki, do me two favors. One, I'm visiting my sister and I'd like a limo at my door in... 30 minutes. Two... you get off work at 5?"

"Yes..." Yuki's voice dripped with apprehension.

"Be here around 7... I'll arrange a plane."

Yuki was silent for a long time, so long Josh called for her several times before he stammered an affirmative.

Josh's voice suddenly became very rich and deep. "See you then, Yuki."

"Yeah..." she replied.

Josh had to hang up the phone. Yuki couldn't.

Josh smiled. What a day, he mused. A possibility of... getting to know his sister better, and setting up a date with a hot Japanese chick tonight. As he got ready, he wondered what else could happen today.
