Chapter 21

How do you take your rest?

With Interruptions

You retreat deeper into the side caverns you've found until finally you find a secluded nest of sorts. One way in and one way out, the small cave is completely pitch black and allows you to curl onto the floor to rest, an easy sleep overtaking you that you're just beginning to enjoy when the first voice breaks the darkness and silence.

"Hey, this doesn't look like the quest area. Come on now. Where are you taking us?"

It echoes down into your cave with a frustrating frequency, grating on your...ears? Do you have ears? You're suddenly unsure, and rise with open eyes. The voices are coming from much further down in the caves, and you're moving towards the source of them. More curious than anything, if a bit annoyed...

The voices are revealed to be a trio, moving through the cave network you've just come from. The one leading them is a tall Orc man, dressed in chainmail and carrying a shield and sword. Deep green-brown skin, long hair styled into a sort of mane and burly enough, he looks the part, but you're more interested in his companions.

Both are tall, slender women. Both have thick manes of blonde hair, both topped with slightly angled cat ears riding out of the mass. They must be that feline race that everyone plays, you're surprised they're the first two you've met so far. One is taller than the other, with slender curves and hair down to her neck, dressed in a set of light leathers. She has a pair of daggers resting at her hips and her tail is swaying behind her quietly. You can make a few tiger-strip like slash tattoos along her body.

The second is shorter and hidden behind a thick robe set, with a set of chakrams in her hands. She has a softer face and trails behind a bit, looking about curiously at the various cave entrances and exits. For whatever reason, not being able to see what she looks like underneath the robes is making you curious, and it certainly seems deliberate.

"I'm heading to a farming spot first, we can get a few levels before we try the quest again. I don't want to fail it a third time." the Orc replies, gruffly, provoking an eyeroll from the less covered woman and you debate with yourself for a moment. You could let this pass up, get some rest and try to hunt them later...Or go see if you can't sink your claws into them, and maybe unwrap the one that has you so curious.

Sleep, or hunt?
