Walter takes Max to see a friend

Max followed Walter through the old repair shop. He had brought her Downtown to find someone he said would help with her situation with Peter Simmons.

The old shop was full of broken computers, telephones, fax machines, and other electronic junk.

"All this shit was worth peanuts after The Pulse. My guy's father ran a nice repair shop here.. Then the EMP hit and put him out of business, fried everything", Walter was explaining.

The Pulse, Max thought, how many lives it ruined. Still, at least it was just the aftermath of the blast, if the actual bombs detonated on their targets, lots of innocent people would have lost their lives.

"WHO THE FUCK IS IN HERE? I GOTTA GUN YA CRACKHEADS!"

"Relax, it's me, come on out."

"Hey, Walt, that you?" came the voice from somewhere at the back of the old shop.

A scrawny little man came out to meet Walter. Max looked at him; that dyed purple patch of hair, those tattoos, the metal piercings in his face and ears. Max would never forget his face.
