Chapter 4 by eternalpandaman eternalpandaman

What happens?

Unsnap/Snap

*Massive Plot Spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War and Ant Man and The Wasp follow. You have been warned*

*In a new parallel timeline. Not much is different, except that one Natasha Romanoff fell victim to the effects of Thanos' snap.*

"You should have gone for the head"

SNAP

The sound was like a gun shot, echoing across the thickly packed forested area and resonating in the ears of those who were left behind as their friends, lovers, family faded into nothingness.

Thanos , The Mad Titan, came back to consciousness with a jolt. There were still pressing matters to attend to. The mystical axe in his chest was priority number one. He needed to escape, to tend his wounds. It had really cost everything to achieve his goal.

He savored for one more moment the look of exaggerated terror on his Asgardian archenemy. Then he made a closed fist with his left arm and-

Felt flesh as his fingers touched his gnarled and weathered palm.

A glimmer of mirth and then a sly smile broke out across the Asgardian's face.

"And you....you should have finished me when you had the chance. But fate makes a fool of us all. You're getting yours right..."-Thor pushed the axe deeper into Thanos' chest.

Nebula and one Tony Stark, genius billionaire playboy philanthropist, cosmic savior by irony of the fates, stood in the streets of New York city as literal chaos reigned all about. But on Tony's face was a look of relief. On his left arm was the very object the Mad Titan had used to wreak such devastation.

He sat down in the rubble and activated the green stone in his thumb. Instantly his mind was ablaze with innumerable possibilities. The universe spoke, and for once in his long life, Stark chose to listen up.

Tony raised the gauntlet to the sky and crossed his thumb and finger. And he thought of what he wanted- no it wasn't that simple. He thought of what needed to be done.

Strange had been right, odd fellow that he was. There was only one way this was going to work out. But causality is a fickle thing. The smallest ripple gathers as it races to crash onto the shore of probability. Stark had no idea why this was to be, why it was THIS turn of events that would save them all. But deep down, he couldn't help but be amused.

"okay then....I guess we're going through with this. They aren't all gonna like this. So here we go, everyone back to their healthy, living selves. All of these Stones put back where they need to be. And don't make me say that other thing."

Tony snapped his fingers in the gauntlet. And the world turned white with radiance once more.

On a faraway world rife with vegetation and flora, there lay a small shrine. In the distance, the ruins of once proud cities smolder in the bright sun as if the ashes were still hot. Suddenly, a majestic yellow light bathes the area and condenses to a point above the altar. Around it forms a shape, which forms a being neither man nor machine.

Vision awoke with new clarity. There was no longer a Vision and a Stone. Whatever this curious new configuration was, it had all the heart of the android that had bore it's power. And it's power was Mind.

Coming back from nothing to perfect health and form is a strange experience, to say the least. Which is why it took Wanda Maximoff more than a few moments to get her bearings.

Wanda wasn't sure how she still WAS Wanda. How she even WAS. But there they were, the sensations of life. The humid air in her lungs, the soft warm grass beneath her feet, the tickle of her long dark auburn hair around her shoulders.

She gazed out at the ground ahead of her perplexed. Her lover was nowhere to be found. Not even the shell of the Vision could be spotted in the tall grass ahead.

Suddenly a cool breeze picked up, and she heard the chattering of voices nearby. She watched as Wakandan soldiers lined the clearing, looking confused and maybe a little giddy.

But none of that mattered when at once a great light enveloped her and she could feel a familiar energy in front of her. A luminescent shape hovered in the air. It was new but unmistakable.

...."Viz." It almost caught in her throat, as she tried to hold back happy tears. Then she noticed a look of concern in the shape as she felt energy begin to probe her. It ran over her face......Wanda frowned. Down her neck. In her stomach. Somewhere private. Arcs of energy flew between her fingers. She felt it between her toes. Wanda looked down and then up, eyes wide. And she screamed.

Wanda Maximoff was back, that much was true. But Wanda Maximoff had returned with only Wanda to her name. She threw one arm around her ample and bouncing chest, and another between her creamy thighs.

Her pale white skin glistened in the afternoon sun. She heard movement behind her, and a familiar voice.

Vision started. "Wanda, um. You're.....he's...."

Wanda gave him a silencing look. She didn't want to know. She didn't want to know that the king of a high tech secret African civilization and his subjects had a front row seat to her bare behind.

To be continued.....

Who do we pick up with next?
