They find out

Before Caroline knew it, she was being unstrapped from the chair and dragged over toward the wall where she was placed in chains.

"Now for contestant number two," said Alpha.

He walked away for a few moments and then returned with an undressed blonde woman whom he strapped into the same chair that Caroline had once occupied.

"Who's that?" asked Caroline.

"According to her name tag, it's Wendy," said Alpha. "She used to be a store clerk who gave my Crystal no end of trouble. Needless to say, she won't be doing that again."

"Why is she naked?" asked Caroline.

"Why not?" replied Alpha. "Now first we upload her old personality and place it in a wedge."

At this point, Alpha pushed a button and the chair started to glow as it did just what Alpha had said it would do.

When it was done, Alpha took out something that looked like a weird-shaped computer disc and then put in another such disc.

"Now we download homeless gal's original personality and see what she has to say for herself," said Alpha.

Again, Alpha pushed a button and the chair began to glow.

When the imprinting process was over, Alpha smiled and said, "Good morning, darling, Who might you be?"

"I'm definitely not your darling," said the blonde in the chair. "Where am I? Who are you? Why am I naked? Why are those two naked? And why do they both look like me?"

"Hey, I'm the one asking the questions here," said Alpha. "Who are you?"

"I'm guessing one of them is in my original body and they're still getting used to it," said the blonde. "Which is a good thing for you, Mr. Crazy Person. Because sooner or later they're going to find out what it can do -- and then you'll be in big trouble."

"I asked you a question, bitch," said Alpha. "Who are you?"

The blonde smiled as if enjoying a private joke. "I'm Faith Lehane. I'm a vampire slayer."
