No, what stops Tandy in her tracks is the fact that her mom is not just passed out on the small sofa.

She's passed out as naked as Tandy herself is.

Gasping with surprise upon seeing far more of her mother's body than she's comfortable with Tandy is further dismayed to watch as her mother almost immediately wakes up, sits up and sees Tandy standing in front of her naked, barefoot and still dripping wet from her shower and says :

Good evening, honey. Is everything all right?

More weirded out than ever due to the fact that her mother either does not seem to notice that they are both naked or she thinks it is normal for some reason Tandy rapidly tries to think of a way to figure out just what in the hell is going on.
