Chapter 14 by grimbous grimbous

What's next?

Submissive Fiona Part 2

"Fiona...why don't you lie down?"

She has a worried look and grips at your leg unsure of herself.

"Fiona, lie down on the bed." You say impatiently, your nerves getting the better of you.

"Yes Jesse." She says and obeys. She crawls back up onto the bed and curls up in a little ball in the middle.

"Oh geez." You go and guide her up to lie on the bed like a normal person and tuck her in under your blankets. You felt like you were looking after a sick person. You figure you actually kind of are. Sitting at the side of the bed you watch her hold the blankets to her and peer around the room with big nervous eyes. "Fiona, what's happened to you? Why are you so frightened of everything?"

She looks up at you and her face calms. "Not everything." She smiles. You take her hand in yours and she calms even more. She continues. "I don't know what is happening. It's all so overwhelming. I'm so confused. It helps a lot when I am with you. When you tell me what to do. It helps so much. It makes me feel better."

"Okay Fiona, okay." You assure her. You let out a little laugh. "I never thought I'd ever get to tell you what to do."

A grim look darkens her face. "I, um, I was terrible to you. To you and Elsie. Just terrible. I see that now. If you want to punish me I'd understand. Or make fun of me. I was a rotten person, the worst big sister ever. I was a piece of garbage."

You squeeze her hand. "You stop that now!"

"Yes Jesse." She looks down as if you'd just scolded her.

You sigh in exasperation. "Fiona, you were rough. Hard to get along with. But you weren't rotten."

She bites her lip, unable to respond because you ordered her to stop it. You say in a soft calm voice. "Fiona, just...close your eyes. Get some rest."

She closes her eyes as she whispers. "Yes Jesse."

You sit with her for a time thinking about what to do next, in the end you decide to just wait for your aunt's call. It finally comes an hour later.

You answer the phone. "Aunt Peg, thank God! What is happening?"

Your Aunt's voice was terse, on a razors edge. "How is she?"

By this point you were sitting on a chair watching her sleep, she was now waking as she heard the talking in the room. "Not good Aunt Peg. She's little, like physically small, and...she's just not acting right. Something is very wrong with her." Fiona was looking at you once more with scared eyes as she heard the concern in your voice.

"Yeah, damn it. Okay, listen carefully. We just discovered what went wrong. Fiona had a virus we missed in the screenings, just a mild flu. She probably didn't even know she had it. The virus mixed with our treatment and had unexpected effects, as you've seen." There is a long pause. "Listen, you're not going to like this but...you're going to have to stay with her at your house. For at least a few days."

You weren't quite following. "Sorry, what do you mean?"

Your Aunt sighs. "Because it was a reaction with a virus...she might be contagious."

You stand up suddenly. "What!?"

"Calm down Jesse." She snaps. "You've got to stay calm. Listen, I am pretty confident as a man the virus shouldn't effect you but you might be a carrier. Fiona might fight the effects off after a while, or it might be permanent, we just don't know yet. Until we can really figure out what is happening you two are quarantined. Don't leave that house for any reason!"

"You have got to be kidding me!" You were pacing back and forth, your nervous energy transferring to Fiona who was once more trembling and hiding under her blankets.

"I know, I know. Listen, this is serious business Jesse. No contact with the outside world..at all! Don't even talk about it with anyone. I've got Lucy in isolation as well. I've already talked to Elsie and Helen, they'll be staying with me until this gets figured out. They said you had plenty of food and such at home and that you should be good for a while." Her voice softens. "I am so sorry Jesse, I never meant any of this to happen. Serves me right for trying to play god. Can I talk to Fiona?"

"Talk to her?" You ask. Fiona pops her head out from the blankets and shakes it vigorously, then goes back under. "Um, she doesn't want to. I could tell her too if you want...she listens to everything I say."

"Yeah, docility was one of the side effects. No, just leave her be, I'll talk with her later. She doesn't need any more stress right now. Tell her we love her and...take care of her Jesse. She is at such a sensitive and impressionable time right now. She should be healthy enough, physically, but mentally...just be gentle with her, okay? She's not the Fiona you are used to."

You agree. "Okay. I will." You sigh. "I'll talk with you later."

You hang up the phone. "Well Fiona, we're in quarantine. Looks like it is just you and me for a few days."

She peeks out from her hiding place. A relieved little smile on her face as if she was happy at that news. "Thank goodness."

You sit down on the bed beside her and set your phone on the night stand. "Do you need anything?" She shakes her head no. "Well, we're going have a long time together Fiona. What do you want to do?"

She smiles. "Whatever you want to do Jesse, whatever YOU want to do."

Fiona is at your mercy. What kind of brother are you?
