Chapter 5 by Nervysniper Nervysniper

What's next?

She only grabbed a pink flowery jumper, nothing else!

(chapter originally by Phantom Pen at writing.com)

Mackenzie cursed silently to herself as she looked at what she'd grabbed. Her great aunt was a sweet old lady, but her fashion sense was horrible, well... non-existent. The pink, flowery garment in her hands was what Mackenzie would call an oversized sweater, though her great aunt insisted on calling it a jumper for whatever reason. It had been a gift, as most disastrous wardrobe items were, and meant for winter wear. The fabric was thick and itchy wool, meant to be worn as an outermost layer, not as a dress over bare skin and certainly not in warmer weather.

Unfortunately, that was exactly what it would have to be if Mackenzie was going to get to her test in time. Slipping her feet into a pair of sandals as she hoisted the garment over her head and slid it on, Mackenzie grimaced at the scratchy, itchy fabric rubbing against her skin. This was going to be the most uncomfortable test of the redhead's life, by the way things were feeling. Even worse, the weather had been particularly warm and sunny lately, and the thick fabric of the jumper was already starting to feel a bit stifling.

Trying to push the discomfort out of her head, Mackenzie made a beeline for the exit door, hear thoughts and gaze fixed on the building she needed to reach for her test. She just had to get that done and she could amend this little fashion disaster...

Things weren't going to be that simple for Mackenzie, however, as her hasty choice of outfit would have consequences...
